If you are buying and selling products and you are self employed it is very necessary that you have high lines of credit. If you travel due to your business and your are your company, then you can't depend on your corporation to reimburse. Having this much credit in a high volume business that you yourself owns would probably be very beneficial. Especially since most of those Amex cards you can't carry a balance on. Thus, they are basically lines of credit without interest unlike lines of credit that most businesses offer. I certainly don't have a need for a card like this and neither does most of the people on this forum. If you have a business that you buy and sell a lot of stuff then I can see the need.
Wouldn't you get a Business card if you are self employed? A personal credit card does not make sense, unless you don't pay taxes on the income.
Well... it would make sense to get a business card to prevent yourself from going bankrupt if things didn't work out... This is very true. However, maybe this guy just wants to brag and/or has found the Amex Black to be better for his usage than a business card.
