I gave the hint in an earlier post, and it seems to work since I have two out of three items coming, and the one I didn't get was because I gave up early just like everyone complaining that they aren't getting anything. As I said before, I didn't give up on clicking "I want it" when I saw the message "just missed it try again at <later time>". I continued clicking and 30 seconds to a min after the 12, 4, 9 time I got it. The first time I posted this info was on 11/25, scroll up and read.

There's also a 5 min time limit between ordering screens, so it's possible to snag an item later on if someone doesn't complete their transaction. So, if you really want something, you can keep clicking for 15 min after and maybe grab something that someone missed out on.

-I doubt my connection matters, but since you're curious, it's just regular Comcast cable.
-I'm in northern california, an hour drive from san francisco, if you think location might be important.
-First item I ordered, I got it using my laptop (check sig)
-Second time I used my gaming desktop (check sig)
-I wear boxers, not briefs.
-I don't eat red meat or cheese.
-I listen to punk, the older bands that have been around awhile and knows what punk means, NOT that mall-core crap.

Hey, thanks for all the info. I saw your previous post on that info, but I thought you might have some other techniques. Any how, yeah, I only got bunch of certificates and nothing else. I tried keep on clicking the button, but no result on those items yet. Thanks.

Well, I WAS happy to get the amazon.com, but I cannot get the promotional code to work...thinking that I might have had something in the cart that did not qualify I deleted things one at a time...down to a single book it still would not let me get it...so the wife emails Amazon.com and they say that the code is invalid....go figure...be careful with these things, they may not be what they are cracked up to be...

has anyone had any luck actually USING a certificate?

You need to have your payment method set to an American Express card before it will let you use the certificate.
This means at checkout time, you first need to go to change payment methods, put in the Amex card, continue, then put in the code back at the main checkout page.

THey have it about every other day in the upper right corner, where the GET OFFERS button is...that changes about 4-5 times a day....I got a best buy one too, but I am not sure if it will work now....just got off the phone with AMEX and they are investigating...I will keep you informed...

I did all that...Amazon is telling me the code is invalid...

FYI, AMEX has acknowledged an error with at least two of their certificates not being honored. Amazon is one, not sure about the other...anyway, they are currently working on the problem and plan to contact the affected recipients, although with the impending deadline this week, not sure if it will do any good...who knows, maybe they will extend the certs...

I know it is a long shot, but are you using the dashes? Mine wouldn't work with the dashes, once I left those out and used all caps, both my coupons went through fine.

These wishlist certs ended up costing me a fortune!

Yeah, I was able to use two amazon coupons. Like the previous poster said, you have to add the coupon after the step where you enter your credit card number.

But you said you are seeing invalid cert. number, and that was the error I saw when I put the dashes in, not the error I saw when I put the cert in at the wrong step.

I hate to ask, but did you buy the coupon? Maybe it was already used?

WHen I use it at Amazon, it says only that there is a problem with the certificate with what I am purchasing. I removed everything except for asingle book that I am sure was valid and nothing. So I called Amazon to see what the problem was and they told me the code was invalid. So they advised I call AMEX which I did and they have confirmed they had a lot of Amazon certificates that were ringing up as invalid. They are supposedly trying to fix the problem..

I did not pay for this certificate as I got it free from AMEX with this promotion...so I am not too bummed, woulda liked to use it though...

I also initially had problems with the amazon cert; however, when you add it to the last screen (after having selected the AmEx card as payment) I was able to get the certificate to take. My friend also got it to work that way. Edit-but it looks like some people already tried this and it still didn't work.

Btw, another amazon cert will be available tomorrow at 11 pst.

Me too, at 12 et I wasn't able to get it. I tried again at 4 and the site redirected me to some page that looped back to the my wishlist page, screwing me over. At 9 I got the same message.

If anyone here got one of these and would be willing to sell it, pm/email me and maybe we can work something out. This is the one item that would make my fiance's eyes sparkle with joy, but I can't afford the retail price tag of 350, especially with the price gauging that is going on with the people that actually have them in stock. So if you have one that you would like to sell, let me know it'd make her day.
