American History X...why didn't Ed Norton get an Oscar (or SOMETHING) for that? :(

edward norton is a great actor, great movie, great...everything about that.

My roommate, a hall mate, and I just finished watching it on DVD (on my computer)...it's about my 5th time seeing it. It gets better every time.

i saw the movie and it opened my eyes quite a bit. a friend of mine bought it when i went to visit him, but put the movie in at 4am in the morning so i fell asleep 10 minutes into it. but since he raved soooo much about it, i got the dvd of it when i bought my player. i has been my favorite movie, right up there with usual suspects, ever since. i was living in the dorms last year and i had some unusual political/thought provoking posters on my door, that i got quite a few people on my floor to watch the movie after a discussion about my poster of hitler [hitler wore khakis: GAP khakis]. plus after seeing what movies on dvd i had [since i actually had a dvd player] they usually asked about that one. i must have shown it 2 dozen times for other people. i loved it every time, plus it got some good discussion going after the movie was over.

American History X was a excellent movie. Most people didn't even watch the movie because they are afraid to even discuss racism. Unfortunately we still live in a society that is afraid to discuss things they don't understand.

very disturbing movie but nevertheless one of the BEST out there. now that u guys reminded me of the movie, i might just go out and rent it again or maybe even buy it <gasp>. i dont usually buy movies or CDs so if i actually shell out $$$, then the movie or CD is an A+++++++++++++ in hoeboy's book!!

Edward Norton is IMO one of the greatest actors of the younger generation. Have you seen the movie Jake, Brian &amp; Anna where he plays a catholic priest and falls in love with his friend from the childhood? He seems as authentic in the priest's robe talking with his friend about sex as when preaching to nazis about white power.

please, the Oscars are a popularity contest. Actors have to pay their dues to win that award.

AHX is not an academy type movie, anyway. It actually addresses vital concerns of society, gasp. This alone took away chances Norton would have for an oscar.

I love this movie. It is simply an awesome, and emotionally draining, film. Anyone here who has not seen it should.

Norton is also very good in fight club as well. Talk about a movie the academy doesn't like, though.

That movie isnt called Jake, Brian &amp; Anna, its called Keeping the Faith, with Edward Norton, Ben Stiller, &amp; Jenna Elfman. It was a decent movie. Rounders was great, Fight Club is the best.

He was outstanding in Primal Fear and also great in The Poeple VS Larry Flint

That was a great movie he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in 1999 for the Role, The award went to Roberto Benigni for Life is Beautiful.

sorry people, but &quot;keeping the faith&quot; will end up being the thorn in edward norton's side. i can't believe he directed that pile. i saw that movie on the campus movie station while stoned, and i still about barfed. my friends and i couldn't believe that someone in AHX and Fight Club could be associated with that mess. oh well, everyone usually has one movie that they are ashamed of.

Sorry, but I think Roberto Begnini deserved that award more than Norton having seen both movies by the two actors multiple times.
