Part 2
Chris Cornell knows good PR and national exposure when he sees it.

He also knows he's still the man:

David Cook's performance was really good and was a nice turn on American Idol. He'll never be Chris Cornell vocally but I can appreciate how he can take something relatively obscure, bring it to the national stage for people to hear, and perform it well too. He has a good ear.

I agree, Cook has a great ear, and if he continues his strategy of bringing the obscure to the light, I think he wins. He's my fav for taking it all now.

Chris Cornell should be thanking the stars for David. Since Soundgarden died, I didn't even know he was still around.

Yeah, I can't even watch it. She made one song that I can somewhat stand, 9 to 5.

little david had another good performance...and surprisingly, this week's performances aren't as bad as I was expecting.

It's either that, or I'm just happy to have my laptop properly booting up again.

You mean "singing a Whitney Houston cover of a Dolly Parton song."

And I thought Johns was great tonight. In fact, for being Dolly Parton night, it wasn't bad overall.

To me, this was one of the best shows so far. I'm not a country fan, nor am I a Dolly Pardon fan, but this show really worked for me. I even liked Castro's song, I've never liked anything he's done. I thought Ramiele was the weakest link, followed by Carly. It's the first time I've been tempted to download a couple of the songs from iTunes.

She did the Whitney version like David Cook did the Cornell version of BJ last week.

It was better than expected. Only Kristy Lee Cook sang a song with twang like Dolly would have.

I really think this season has the most talented and the best looking group of singers ever for any season. There is no way to pick who is going to win.... except for Ramiele, she has to go. cute, great voice, but no confidence or star power.

Syesha did pretty well with the Whitney Houston version of "I Will Always Love You". I don't think there is a contestant on there that could've done better. The judges, especially Simon, don't give her enough respect.

I like how David Cook did *his very own* arrangement this time and hit it. So there.
He's one of my favorites to win. He's listed Our Lady Peace as one of his musical influences. I'm a fan of them too.

Kinda cool that this season doesn't have that one odd duck, like Sanjaya, that keeps hanging in there and sucking.

lol, those ducks annoyed me. Sanjaya was on for so long cause guys like Howard Stern urged listeners to vote for him just to fcuk with American Idol.

These theme nights have got to go. I've thought this for a few years now. Why did we have to hear Chris Daughtry sing "What a Wonderful World"? Why did Bo Bice have to sing a show tune? Why did Bucky Covington have to butcher a Queen song? etc, etc, etc.

Let them win or lose singing whatever it is they are suited for or prefer to sing. Nobody gains anything by getting taken out of their element. Let them sing whatever type of music that they will make a record of when they sign a contract.
Now doing music from different decades/eras? Fine, as long as all styles from that era are fair game.

But let's let the country folks sing country, rockers rock, etc.

He was vocalist for Audioslave, featuring the remains of Rage Against the Machine. I think they won some grammy's.
