good gawd, what is wrong with that? it's not like he was up there being a blubbering fool.
he got *teary-eyed*. i wouldn't call that crying.

Cook won... ahhhhh, that was a good surprise. little emo boy will still do alright.

There are plenty of reasons for a man to cry (death of a relative, birth of your child, getting kicked in the nuts)...

But crying over some stupid-ass reality show in which your chances of making it big as the male "winner" of American Idol are slim to none. The "loser" males seem to do better than the "winners".

Daughtry, Aiken, etc.

HE WASN'T CRYING!@!!!!! he got teary eyed for a short moment. do you know what crying is? that WASN'T IT! and just because you think it's no big deal to win AI doesn't mean we all do.

*kicks NFS4 in the nuts so he can let out a good cry for a good reason*

What do I get out of this deal other than getting kicked in the nuts? It might be worth it if you flash some bewbage
you first. :Q

He would have made money if he had left before the top 12. He had an album he produced and recorded himself on amazon.com. IIRC he made the album late 2006, also just so you know before it was removed from amazon it was downloaded more than any other albulm on amazon for at least 2 weeks.

Why removed?

Conflict of interest with an Idol deal?

I don't know why it was removed. The name of the albulm was Analog Heart. It's fantastic, better than any rock songs I have heard on the radio in years.

B/c it would have made him ineligible for the competition.

If anybody runs across a cap of the ending of the show, please let me know. Our DVR cut off about 10 seconds after they announced Cook as the winner, and I would've liked to seen all hoopla. Luckily we did get to see the winner announced before it cut off.

And I'm glad Simon at least had the decency to say he was wrong, because I thought he was too highly critical of Cook last night, and Simon definitely disrespected him the entire night. Not a bad run for a guy to win this whole thing just because his brother told him to audition on a whim just because they were there.

at the very end they panned to Cook's brother and you saw him say with a big smile on his face, "That's my brother."

He must have gotten some tips from Micheal Jackson.

I could understand his crying last night, more so than the night before. I got misty eyed, when a co worker found out he had just won 50k. I'll always remember the reaction on his face. I don't know what I'd do if I won anything like Cook did.

Last night was a pleasant surprise though. I'd like to see a show of hands from those who still think that only teen age girls vote on this show.

Just read this about David Cook's brother. I had no idea he had cancer.
Hey NFS4, does this give a guy who just won American Idol, and has a brother who "flew to California yesterday morning accompanied by a medic nurse" because he's "been undergoing chemotherapy for his second diagnosis of brain cancer, which had spread to his spine", a right to cry?

David Cook's Brother Adam Will Attend ?Idol? Finale
David Cook?s brother, Adam, who suffers from brain cancer will be in the American Idol audience to watch the final two shows.

As two American Idol contestants will face off and present their very best to the viewers who have watched the contest go from hundreds of thousands all hoping for a chance, David Cook will have one special fan in the audience ? his brother Adam ? who is suffering from brain cancer.

?Extra? has learned that David Cook?s brother, Adam, will be in the American Idol audience to watch the final two shows.

According to their sources, Adam flew to California yesterday morning accompanied by a medic nurse.

As previously reported by AccessHollywood.com, Adam, 36, has been undergoing chemotherapy for his second diagnosis of brain cancer, which had spread to his spine.

It was reported that it was unexpected and unlikely that Adam Cook would be attending the American Idol finale.

I think he had every right to get teary-eyed. Going from being a bartender to being American Idol, regardless of what anyone thinks of the show, has got to mean a vast improvement in his lifestyle and his chances for future success.

I don't think that the brother who came on stage and whose fault it all was (according to David) is the brother with cancer. Andrew versus Adam.

I gotta say I was surprised at the results. I also gotta wonder where and why they get some of these guests? Is Donna Summers really relevant today? Do we really need or want to see Seal, Nash, or Bryan Adams?
Finally, what's up with George Michaels? Did that dude pay AI to get himself put on the show? I cannot imagine a producer is sitting there thinking....."hmm, who would be a perfect closer to our AI show based on our demographic??....I got it, George Michael. We'll have him sing a sappy love ballad. Give him a call and see if he's available."
Some of the other guests were cool though. Both Davids sounded good with their groups. Carly sounded great again. Actually the song with Carly and Michael Johns was pretty good imo.
By the way, did any see at the beginning of the show at the end of the first song where they were all "frozen" in the final pose before cutting to the AI intro, and Jason Castro was just stumbling around laughing in the background and took about 2 seconds to wonder around the stage and then finally get back in his pose? It was hilarious...dude was probably high as a kite...lol.

I saw on the news afterwards an interview of him and he said that he almost got burned by something back there and it startled him.

You know, I'm listening to the American Idol studio recordings of Jason Castro and they're really enjoyable.
