It was a great performance though.

Hernandez really stepped it up last night. As did Chikeze. David is in the finals no matter what he does the rest of the way. Also, I'm not buying his whole shy surprised guy act either. I think he's genuinely a nice guy, but apparently he's been in the spotlight before and he obviously knows he's very good.

And does anyone else think Simon is being especially prickish this year? He's gone beyond critisizing their performances to just critisizing them. He doesn't even mention their singing sometimes. Last week he ripped on the guy for looking to pasty white like he was locked in his room too long. This week he bascially told Robbie he thinks he's a fake...how the F does Simon know who this guy is?
Seriously, he's an assh0le this year. Plus when David finally ripped on him, Simon starting crying like a little bitch "don't tell me the rules, I've been here and I know the rules, I was just trying to help you". In the past he's been critical but had some redeeming qualities about him. This year he's such a little prick. I hope Robbie smacks him in the face.

It might have been an improvement, noone really was good tonight, D'Asia was probably the best, but at least there was eye candy

I thought maybe last week was an anomoly and that at least one woman would step up to the plate this week. They may as well give the prize to David Archuleta right now though and save more weeks of misery. He's the only contestant that has shown the ability to actually emote and it doesn't appear as if that's going to change.

Seriously, this had to be the worst show I have seen in awhile. All of the girls were awful, and A'siah knew she couldn't handle such a huge song like that, yet she tried to sing it anyway.

The one's above average, and that's not saying much, was Alexandrea, and Ayesha. The rest were pure trash.

No lie. All the hype about the amount of talent this year and...bleh. Talk about weak sauce.

She may not have the pure singing talent, but I like the Carly Simon-esque one. She seems genuine and sings naturally.

The problem is that she did Carly Simon's version of the song, including many of the same notes and inflections of the original.

When Archuleta did Imagine last night, a song that a multitude other singers have rehashed, he did it in a way that's never been heard before and did it amazingly poignantly; at a level few have ever done that song. He took a standard and sold his own version of it in a big way. Nobody else this season has come anywhere close to doing that yet.

wow... the girls did disappoint. Amanda was a total flop. She really can only do Joplin well. Anything else seems out of her realm.

She may not be singing again after tonight. Of all the girls she was probably the worst. My guess is she'll be gone tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of David's but I agree that rendition of 'imagine' sucked!

I dont even know why Amanda is on this show, this is a pop artist type show and she doesnt fit the bill. Its not that shes a poor singer, but no way in hell she would win, the idol type that gets chosen year in and out isnt the Janice Joplin type blues singer that she brings to the table.
