That's sacrilege
Maybe by today's standards the original isn't that great, but back then it was a unique game with a twist on the standard shooter genre. It had an immerse environment that pulled you in and kept you coming back for more.
I know for a limited time EA's Origin d/l service had the old game available if you pre-ordered, but they pulled that right after The Madness Returns shipped.
You and your nostalgia for old games.
i played
Alice when it first came out. i upgraded my PC to play it better. i did not say that it was awful - i said it
"wasn't that great". It is a platformer.
Alice wasn't overall great. It was way too long and the episodes were stretched out to the breaking point.
Alice is ultimately hack and slash. They took the clever idea of the children's toys as weapons and never ran with it. Another BORING shooter that was cleverly wrapped in fantastic art and level design to distract you from the same elements repeated over-and-over.
Madness Returns isn't much different than the original and the graphics are much better. The artwork and level design is a tie - awesome in both games (for their times).
I bought the new one and didnt get a copy of the old one. I got it from origin. Guess i need to call them.
As to the free digital copy of the original
Alice; it was available free to those who pre-ordered
Madness Returns. i don't believe the offer is still open. Maybe i should sell my disks.
D: fifty bucks!?!!!?! i'll never play it again!
