To a certain degree? The Z06 will easily outhandle everything on that list.

I think a lot of kiddies put down US cars because they're not popular and don't realize just how well Corvettes handle. The Z06 is a monster on the roadcourse. It's one of the few cars that you can competitively track in stock form.

alot of it was because until recently, the stigma was that a vette only had a 2 year life span. Just like the Harleys, we've seen a pretty radical shift in design philosophy in domestic cars being built. however, for every good domestic car built, another 10 suck. Japanese cars tend to be consistenly reliable with the exception of Mitsubishi.

Please a RWD car vs. AWD car with 4 wheel steering and active limited-slip differential and traction control that will compensate for power loss on any 4 wheels?

Its like saying a Neon SRT4 will out handle a WRX

edit ....

I'd say Japanese based soley on looks and their high-revving nature. A high revving racing engine appeals a lot more to me in a sports car, mostly because I've always been so fascinated by F1 Engines.

It's all about preferences really.

The WRX STi woudl be a great addition to the muscle car list for the Japanese.

But those who understand engines realize that you gain absolutely nothing by having to produce your HP by revving high, and in fact you lose valuable torque and usable powerband.

The only reason that F1 engines rev high is because they're not allowed to make their power by other means. When they were allowed to years ago, they made more HP. F1 cars had more HP 20 years ago than they do now.

You obviously have no idea what you're talking about, so you should probably exit this thread. 4WD does not improve handing. Educate yourself to discover why.

Do your own research. It's not my job to spoon feed you information that I learned 10 years ago. I used to think the same thing, then I found out for myself, just as you need to find out for yourself.

Edit: I'm not trying to be mean, it's just that I've been over this many times before with people, and new kids are coming of age every day that don't yet know this stuff. I feel like a teacher that teaches a class of kids info every year only to be met a fresh batch of kidsthe next year. I'd have to waste every day of my life explaining this stuff to the new class.

Maybe for a road car...

Both categories are performance vehicles. None of them are muscle cars. Need to go back to the 60's and 70's which is considered the Muscle Car Era.

Every single car in this discussion has been a road car.

Skyline, 3000GT VR4, Supra TT, RX7, NSX vs

Corvette Z06, Camaro SS, Trans Am WS6, GTO

Lets see, $80k, $40k, $50k, $40k, $80k, vs. $60k, $25k, and $25k?

The fact that it's arguable is hilarious!

Let's try this:
Skyline, Supra TT, RX8, Civic SI vs. Viper, Corvette ZO6, Mustang Cobra, SRT-4 Neon.

He's talking about muscle. A turbo'd straight 4 is not muscle. It's steroid'ed muscle. A z06 stock would blow everything out of the water btw, in anything. AWD or not.

never had a hard-on for 3000GT, but I think F-bodies are lame, too. The GTO looks like a blast and a half, but I could never buy one because it's a Pontiac and I'm not sure I could share a badge with the Aztec.

I'm just saying, if you want to do apples to apples, you gotta keep the dollar figures close. You can't throw a '68 Ford Mustang w/ a 289 next to an F50 because they both have similar displacement.

Would you rather share your badge with a Pilot? Or perhaps a Bongo Van?
