He refused to give more than the scantiest details about his U.S. origins, including his real name. Then later he said he was originally from the Washington, D.C.,
area, but indicated he grew up elsewhere in the states. Well spoken, with a mid-Atlantic accent, Hamid said that he converted to Islam at 16
and later went to Pakistan to study the Koran. ?In my travels, I came in contact with some of the original teachers of the leaders of the
Taliban movement,? he said. ?The ideas of the Taliban occupied my mind a lot.? Six months ago, he entered Afghanistan ?to help the
Islamic government? because ?the Taliban are the only government that actually provides Islamic law.?

I am sorry but am I the only one who has a prob;em with this?

Being in the military I feel that we should do as our leader said.
U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said U.S. forces would do whatever is necessary to root out the Taliban.

On second thought just kill the fool..........

I'm sure everyone here has a problem with it. If he is taken back to the US he should be charged with treason I think.

I think we should leave him in the country and treat him just as the others.

<< Walker said he was born in Columbia Women's Hospital in Washington and grew up near San Francisco. Walker said his parents are divorced and that he left home at 18, studying Arabic in Yemen. He said his father lives in Northern California. >>

This is the kind of idiot who goes flag burning because mommy and daddy got divorced and he needs to rebel. Give me a gat and I will take care of this traitor.

Sorry but treason on what charge? Following another religion? Isn't that religious prosecution.
Now if he actually commited war crimes (like a lot of Taliban soldiers) then yes he should be prosecuted.

But Treason? I mean of course other than the obvious he is somehow responsilbe for the attacks on the 11th :|

TREASON - This word imports a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance.

The Constitution of the United States, Art. III, defines treason against the United States to consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid or comfort. This offence is punished with death. By the same article of the Constitution, no person shall be convicted of treason, unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.

What, are you stupid?

He was fighting with a foreign army against the United States, his home country and the country where he is a citizen. Duh.

You better bring friends. Traitor or not he knows how to kill and probably wouldn't think twice about cutting your throat.

Bah, he will be too busy tossing Bubba's salad to be killing anyone, once they bring him back to the States.

PS: don't call me dwill again.

Walker described himself as a ?jihadi?, a fighter of holy wars, and said that he had received combat training at a camp in Afghanistan where Osama bin Laden appeared several times.

Sounds like treason to me... Dosent this jihad plan to ultimately end the united states? They are fighting us in afhganistan as well, not just the northern alliance...

Walker, who suffered a gunshot wound, starvation and near-drowning when the basement of the fortress was flooded, was one of about 80 Taliban supporters to survive a vicious, weeklong battle that left a CIA agent and hundreds of foreign fighters dead.

No I'm not are you?

You dont need to resort to name calling to get your point accross. No one here (ie no link) mentioned he actually fought US soldiers. Changes the situation quite a bit.

BTW what happens if he renounced his citizenship?
