Sad honestly, I used to have a good opinion of that poster. Lately their posts have been pretty gross on balance.
Gross? You don't live here buddy.

I haven't had a metamorphosis as much as people in New York have. Win the next election and I'll relax!

I'm worried this issue is like handling a live grenade and Trump can actually win this in 2024!

Unlike 2020 when people fawned over Biden.. I've yet to see one person actually comment pleasantly on Biden!

Oh and here's some proof that you'll conveniently ignore and call me names about

And don't forget the recent incident in NYC’s Times Square, where a bunch of migrants bussed from the border states get into an altercation with 2 police officers, who end up on the ground getting kicked and punched by the mob, has created quite a stir.

Even the leftist NY State Governor WHO I VOTED FOR when asked about it said, “Send them back where they came from. Nobody attacks a NY cop and gets away with it!” The fact that they were released on NO BAIL has infuriated many, too.

It has been a frog boiling exercise to this point, but I think the frog has started to recognize it getting too hot and the migrants in charge of the burner need to be removed!

No easy answers.. but it seems the lines are being drawn between progressive dreamers vs the democratic party! And I will be a proud LGBT democrat!

P.S. This and the Gaza issue seems to be the new Bernie Bro issue this election cycle!

Yes gross, and a distinct lack of empathy for others. You are being played like a fiddle.

Yup I have a total lack of empathy for those who want to hurt others - especially Trumpanzees, Russians, Religion of non peace fanatics, criminals and certain people who ignore common sense.

On the flip side I have empathy for homeless, jobless, disabled, depressed and the elderly

You won't see me punching an elderly person or robbing them but you are quick to condemn me.

Only a sith deals in absolutes. Be careful of the dark side!

You should take your advice. Criminals should be punished but you’ve taken isolated incidents and turned them into a general anger at immigrants. See the title of your own thread. Plus your desire to see every Muslim killed.

Like I said gross.

You think the cops that started the incident should be fired right?

I hate losing elections more especially to traitors!

NYC's been fine mostly since 1989 when Dinkins was mayor.

Funny thing he appointed Bratton who instituted broken windows and crime came down.. but guess who got credit? Giulliani! And Giulliani won 2 elections even though Dinkins did most of the clean up.

That's something about New York most people don't understand or just gloss over.. we're democrats but perception and feeling safe > facts for most New Yorkers!

Oh and Rudy's guys stuck a plunger up a migrants ass if you remember and he was still looked upon fondly and remembered as a good mayor till he hooked up with Trump!
Dinkins was a terrible mayor from what my parents told me, they said even DeBlasio was better than Dinkins. Although, they do say Adam's is bad as well, and I have to agree.
Broken windows was not effective as the research shows. Also, neither Dinkins nor Giuliani really did anything to clean up New York - the city just followed the nationwide decline in crime.

Regardless, I don't think I've ever seen you post something positive about immigrants even though immigrants are the best part of both NYC and America. We want more - TONS more!
Things started getting fixed when Bloomberg became mayor. It was when he left, stuff started to change. Bloomberg should have just removed mayoral term limits when he had the chance to.

You just proved perception and feeling safe > facts within a voting population. Even super progressive TYT hosts don't want migrants.

So Dems are going to have to pivot on immigrants because the crime narrative perspective is winning.

They know they need to run like Suozzi.. i.e. deport migrants, tough on crime, remove cashless bail, pro roe restoration and student debt relief.

Expect progressives to push back but dems will just abandon them like the Gaza protesters.

Indus every single D that I know opposes illegal immigration and the current policies that have brought this to a head. None of them speak favorably of JB or DT and are looking for an alternative to both. My office is a mix of all parties and this is something that we can all agree upon plus we are all military veterans.

Still trying to figure out why you want higher taxes in order to jail people based on their personal wealth.

Better to run a campaign based on the idea of jailing people based on their danger to the community.

Cash bail is the dumbest thing ever.

Suozzi's position on immigration/border was more nuanced than this. He stated support of fixing the asylum issues at the southern border but also pathways to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS recipients and others. Plus finding an equitable way to integrate the existing undocumented population. Things that Americans, pretty broadly, agree with.

Turns out having some actual solutions in mind is kinda popular with informed voters who also punished Rs for their quite naked political play to kill the border deal.

And this attitude is why we cannot have nice things. If you cannot afford to bond out and the judge thinks you are of ill repute based on the prosecutors recommendation, your funny face can ROT behind bars until trial. Just like those punks who were here illegally and beat up police then mocked the very same people that allowed them to flee the state for hand outs in another state, no doubt to commit more crime.

You silly liberals need to think with your head and not your heart. Not everyone is innocent.

What's the smart answer? How do you release the accused and insure they return for trial? Some sort of tracking device that can't be removed? Just keep them jailed until the trial? The hope and pray system doesn't seem to be working all that well.

The same thing that happens to people who don't appear who have paid bail or bonded out, a bench warrant is issued for their arrest.

Strawman and tangent away from migrants but fine I'll bite..

This is a difficult question to answer especially as I'm arguing perception and feeling safe > facts.

I guess the closest thing I can come up with is.. why do people pay a premium for 20 inch alloy wheels on their cars when 18 inch are clearly better against wear and tear and potholes. Sometimes people just go with feels better and you run into the hillary scenario..

example.. Trump felt better than a corrupt Hillary and we got fucked trying to argue facts!

Maybe we should learn a lesson from 2016 that facts won't always win hearts and minds?

I guess it feels better to have the bail revoked.

I don't know if you remember the Amy Fisher case back in 1992.. that girl's bail was set at 2 million dollars -- a record at the time for New York and she got out on bail!

These migrants that assaulted a cop got out on 15,000 bail.

Doesn't sound like it was unreasonable amount, does it? No cash bail just sounds stupid!

Cash bail really disproportionately impacts poor people who can't afford to pay and get stuck in jail. They can lose jobs, homes, cars, kids, etc. Essentially their entire life. The US is basically the only country who does it this way.

That's the hope and pray method. We hope that the police will find the person in some random interaction. The other method is to assign limited assets to actually finding the accused. If the person used a bail bond, finding them is handed off to a bounty hunter, another questionable system that does net some results, and lead to the creation of an ex felon bounty hunter that dressed up like a super hero with a mullet and spray can weapons.

You're running an argument in circles..

You keep stating facts yet people "feel" that's not good enough or effective. And the suburbs in New York where Republicans flipped districts in a normal dem environment is proof of this.

If you could have won the argument on facts.. you already would have.

What do you want to win? Elections or Facts?

Cash bail keeps streets safe. Letting people free immediately after arrest usually leads to the commission of more crime by the same people who are now free to commit it.

Repeat offenders should never be given no cash bail.

But liberal states just keep the revolving door open so society pays the price.
