Im not sure where the mean of 180K comes from. I dont know any full timers who make less than 230K.

The AMA sets an artificial cap on the number of doctors. There are thousands of people (capable of becoming very good physicians) who are rejected from med school every year. Lower supply leads to higher prices.
That said, I had originally planned to become a physician, but decided I didn't want to go to school for that much longer despite the huge pay day.
