Edit: 5'11 and 200lb IS fat. Your BMI is 27.9

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

So if you think you aren't fat, you're living in denial.

you realize that BMI is crap right

No I didn't know that. I mean it is inaccurate if you take 6 foot, 250 lb bodybuilder that has most of his weight in muscle, but the guy I did calculations for is just fat. He said he doesn't exercise and eats like shit. There is simply no muscle.

you dont have to be a bodybuilder for BMI to be shit
when i was in HS and admitidily in better shape i weighed ~190Lbs and i am 6ft tall
my senior year i ran Xcountry competetivily, 5-10 miles a day, could run sub 5 min miles...

BMI pegs that as overweight,

almost anyone who does any sort of activity fucks up that scale, + it does not accnt for bone structure or anything else for that matter

my brothers bones are seriously about 2x as big as mine and hes only about 2 inches taller

his "ideal" weight is someplace around 160, you would have to cut off his legs to get him to that

I'm amazed at the sugar content of Vitamin Water. It tastes like under-sugared fruit juice.

I went to the "fat guy" store up the street, nothing fits me. I was told I will never find pants with a 34 inch waist at a store for big guys.
it sucks being fat and not being able to find clothes that fit you

I would agree about the BMI being a damn joke, when I was in HS I was the same height, but weighed about 180, which according to the doc's was still about 10-15 too much. People always commented on how I looked like I needed an extra meal.

BMI is useless, and any credible health professional will tell you so. The Air Force relied on BMI previously as part of a fitness assessment, but they were failing so many people who otherwise maxed out the actual fitness measurements (running, pushups, situps) that they changed it to a waist-neck comparison for fat percentage.

BMI does nothing but misinform.

Yeah, I could easily work off the 2,310 calories from a Baskin Robbins Heath Bar shake in only about 7.5 hours of exercise.

Some people just don't get it.

308 cal/hr is pretty damn low...whats that, slow walking?

Keep in mind you're not likely to ABSORB all those calories. They will just turn to shit.

Both of your statements depend greatly on the subject.

No, just about any credible health professional that actually works in hospital will tell you that BMI is a very good indicator of health for the general public. Most people with BMI's of 30 or more aren't body builders or professional athletes. They are fat people who live sedentary lifestyles and are at higher risks for strokes and heart disease.

It's only crap for a small fraction of people and those people know well enough that it's not something that really applies to them.

To the general joe fatass that waddles into the doctors office the BMI chart is a very objective way of saying "Hey look, you weigh a lot for your size and you are at risk for problems".

A smoothie should be considered as a whole meal.. not just a drink. I know I don't go out and eat anything else for that meal when ever I order/make a smoothie. That sad, the Peanut Butter Moo'd is no doubt the most unhealthy smoothie at Jamba Juice. Was Mark McGuire's favorite though He'd always order it when I worked there briefly in college.

Uhg. Reading that just makes my stomach churn. Why does that need to be in a 32oz serving? That's 1 quart of pure, unalterated pudgesludge. Do they hand out coupons for a free EKG or diabetes screening with each purchase?

Good god. And they even used reduced fat/nonfat milk. So that's what 2% by their count?

Imagine if they used whole milk. This doomsbringer of diabetes would be over 3000 calories.

:shocked:

Yeah same... I have to keep a shitty diet just to maintain weight (I'm 6'2'' and 180lbs). Hopefully it'll last. I think my body has just become used to it.

I actually really want to try that shake just to see what it tastes like. But no way in hell I'd finish even a fourth of it. I'd feel too guilty doing that to my body.
