It is indeed fake. The places are real as I know where some of the farms are that are in the show. Levi hangs out at a certain restaurant that is near my parents in Lebanon county. Hes very "English".

It depends on the nature of the show. Something like Deadliest Catch is real in as much as they really are fishing, but most of the dramatic moments are staged.
