How much is the Samsung 7nm EUV process expected to provide in terms of gains?
How will the RTX components be scaled/developed?
Any major architectural enhancements expected?
Will VRAM be bumped to 16/12/12 for the top three?
Will there be further fragmentation in the lineup? (Keeping turing at cheaper prices, while offering 'beefed up RTX' options at the top?)
Will the top card be capable of >4K60, at least 90?
Would Nvidia ever consider an HBM implementation in the gaming lineup?
Will Nvidia introduce new proprietary technologies again?

Sorry if imprudent/uncalled for, just interested in the forum member's thoughts.

The same way you were wrong on twitter saying that the GPU beating RTX 2080 Ti in VR benchmark was a laptop with Nvidia GPU?

Whole thread of your twitts when you are clearly wrong:
And this is Hassan's reply with a screenshot to your twitt:
Anyway.

Im not dancing about the subject. Nvidia went to Samsung FIRST to design GPUs on 7 nm process. Then it turned out to be a turd, so they went back to TSMC. But to not waste money on R&D, which was massive, they still use Samsung's process to some degree, depending on how the yield will be.

This year is only HPC for Nvidia. Which good thing. Volta needed replacement, considering that just around the corner are MI100 GPUs from AMD. Competition at its best.

-Chugga Chugga Choo Choo, all aboard the hype train!

What will Nvidia fanboys tell me now?

The Gaming cards haven't been taperd out yet, which I told you. Thank you.

its also confirmed by his sources that Ampere is ONLY GA100 chip - Compute, HPC, Volta replacement, and there IS NO gaming cards, yet, because they have not been taped out.

Now, lets get back to posts of Happy Medium and Muhammad's on this very forum, and have a good laugh at them.

Can't be calling people fanboys.

I wasn't joking either when I was saying 'Ampere' is late, I fully meant it.

He's right, though he didn't mention the training GPU. Like Jetson Nano. I'm not certain if it's taped out, but it's still on track, unlike the consumer stuff, which is pushed back.

In April last year Ampere was taped out on Samsung Process.

Was it taped out on TSMC's, though? That is really troublesome question.

Consumer no. That's what Kopite meant here too - no specs on the consumer GPUs until they tape out, because they're yet to do so on TSMC's process. So far, none have done so (probably).

Server and training GPUs were always TSMC though. Not sure about Orin either.

I know that Gaming cards have not been taped out. Also gaming cards are not based on Ampere, and are not named Ampere, which I have said before.

I was asking whether Ampere has been taped out on TSMC's process, or not... The HPC one.

Oh right. Yeah, I'm quite sure that has, and that it will probably have a showing at GTC. Probably.

It's impressive how amd (ati) is so fast adopting new process nodes.
They normally are months or even year ahead of others.

The vega 7nm was released in 11/2018, and with a very big chip. Nvidia already 15 months without any 7nm gpu and still counting.

This is Nvidia thread. Lets stick it to topic, without putting AMD into discussion, shall we?

His sources also pointed to a Samsung process (8nm EUV) that doesn't and has never existed, and a 320bit native GPU die (between their 384/256bit) when NV hasnt done such a thing in eons, if ever.

Nvidia is certainly not immune from the odd screw up, but it would be a brave person to proudly announce it at the start of the year because their execution in general has been very good.

Is there any other source material on 8 EUV? Search came up with nada. Anyway, this isn't good news for Nvidia, if true. What's the norm for them ~1yr from tape-out to product for consumer skus? I guess we'll know better what's really going on in a few months.

About 9-10 months is the norm for GPUs as a whole. If there was a tape out right now, then you'd get a chip about November-ish.

TSMC's 7nm+ has been having yield issues for awhile now. Only N6 and N5 are promising not to have those issues.

Nvidia is having another node disaster!

Well, verification of a HPC class GPU must be a pretty time consuming.
So, if the tape out isn't for a few months on consumer skus, NV will miss a bunch of holiday sales.

I wouldn't call it a disaster, at worst it's a 1H delay.

It's enough to give AMD the leading position for a few months though :^P
