AMW Multiformat DVD Player $34.99/free shipping

This showed up in my email this morning so I thought I would pass it along for others.

Circuit City has this DVD player right now for 34.99 plus free shipping. You will have to pay tax on it but that's life. The dvd got fairly good ratings 4.5/5 overall but who knows what that really means. Have fun.

I searched on variations of CC, Circuit City but not AMW .. I'll change title of my post to Repost delete please ..and to the OP of this thread you might wish to peruse my repost and possibly incorporate some of the info contained within it.

Picked up two. This is the first DVD player that I can read my DVD-Rs!

I am not sure how to connect the audio to a surround audio system. The manual states it will work, but the unit only provides two audio outs.

I got mine a few days ago when it was posted on Ben's. It's an AWESOME dvd player, but alot of people I know got bad ones OOB, so they returned it and got a working one. So check all the files formats when you first get it to make sure yours is a good one!

I bought two of these yesterday. Tested both thoroughly and both work just fine. There was a returned one on the counter when I picked mine up, so apparently some have problems, but some don't. For $35 apiece, I'm happy. I have an Apex 500D that has served me well for a couple of years. It had problems with a couple of DVDs we have, but neither of these do. Here again, these are very basic players, but there's something to be said for that, because they will play almost any format. None of my stuff is good enough to require a nicer DVD player, so these meet my needs very well. If you're looking for a basic player and don't need all the fancy features, these should meet your needs as well. I feel like having two of these cheap players will give me the option to repair one of them after both break. Heck, hopefully, that'll be a good long time, because my old cheap-assed Apex is still running strong, after a couple of years and a couple of hundred rented movies run though it. I do agree with another poster that the works on this player do seem to be stronger than the Apex, but I can't really be sure until one or the other breaks. All in all, these players appear to be worth the $35 they cost.

One of those RCA jacks is a digital coaxial output for audio.

D'oh ... I assumed they were the same. And I thought I was being clever by searching the site for the "same" DVD player at the same price. But even allowing for its deficiencies, the price is right, just not as hot as the original.
