that would require paying more than $0.01 to see a Michael Bay shithole of a movie.

so.....no.

and in 3d? lolwtfman?

Yea I thought the same thing too until the trailer hit and it was pretty damn good. Plus I had 2 tickets for 9 bucks which let me buy four 3D tickets for a total of 9 extra bucks.

I disagree, if you go into a comic book shop, you'll find a section full of comic books and a section called graphic novels, separate.

and many graphic novels are just bound together comic books. anymore they are one and the same. only diffrence really is graphic novels tend to be larger.

I thought the villains in Batman Begins were well-done.

I actually agree, but neither one was a major villain. The problem is they just weren't there enough. The scarecrow only really had a couple of scenes (and gets punked out big time fairly easily). Raz was good, and an ok twist, but again, he just wasn't there for most of it.

I think it works great, but its just a setup.

I agree. I thought Scarecrow was lame, though. only because I don't like Scarecrow, but I agree that the character was great for a, uh..."serious" comic book movie. Raz Alghuel [sic] was great, too. Ledger was also badass as Joker.

Honestly, I think many of the villains have been awesome--

--Green Goblin (you will never fail with DeFoe. never)
--Doc Oc
--Magneto (always awesome)
--those in Watchmen (no spoilers--it is, to me, the echelon of current CB films. almost perfect)
--The Batman flicks (except Two Face was ruined. fuck that)

and plenty of sucked:
--the Hulk films
--Both Iron Mans (Seriously, Iron Man 2 sucked balls. very disappointing)
--anything else from DC.
--Spider Man 3. (Though, they get special credit for completing the near impossible task of utterly ruining one of the greatest modern comic villains ever. kudos.)
--Phoenix/Jean Grey. OK...not as great as Venom (character-wise), but far more dangerous, certainly. damn it--so psyched for her appearance after the awesomeness that was X-Men 2, then...this happened. le sigh...

I thought Green Goblin was just ok. I like Defoe, but I eh, I just don't find Goblin to be very interesting. It was ok for an origin, but nothing more than average at best.

I love Ian, but he just is not a great Magneto. The intellect is there, but its completely missing everything else that made Magneto. You just never got much serious malice out of him. Magneto was willful and strong, I never felt that way about Ian's Magneto. He exudes too much calm consideration for that character. Plus they ruined it with Toad and what they did to Sabretooth, even Mystique was a joke. I'm not even going to touch the third film's atrocious use of villains.

"Graphic novel" is a modern word for "comic book" because they no longer want to imply comedic content.

Yeah, I think it counts. Plus, most of these others have been graphic novels as well so its just stupid to try to make much distinction. I personally wouldn't say Watchmen was the best though. It did some things very well but the movie devolved into a cliche halfway through.

Watchmen isn't a comic book film, it's based on a graphic novel.
And very possibly the worst movie in this genre in many years, what a steaming pile.
"Graphic novel" is a modern word for "comic book" because they no longer want to imply comedic content.
Graphic novels are comic books for people who want to pretend they don't read comic books, so they put the word "novel" in there, add a few more words to pics ratio and slap themselves on the back.
Watchmen is just 12 issue comic book series that spawned over a year then collected and made into a "graphic novel" or trade paperback.
lol, so the delineation is even less than I granted it.

Man that was one terrible fvcking flick if I ever saw one. Thankfully I've managed to recommend against others seeing it and save them the 15 hours.

i agree. he had parts of being megneto but he just didnt pull off the comic book adaption of him. but he was still great.

i also hated what they did with sabertooth. I loved how he looked but he was more then a mindless animal. Same with mystique she just didn't seem as badass as she is in the comic.

Not so much with the Scarecrow, but Raz was one of Batman's biggest and more challenging foes. In the comics, he was near immortal from the lazarus pits, matched Batman's intellect and wealth.

If they could make Thor not absolutely suck, then I think Captain America will actually be decent. Especially considering that he's just a human like Tony Stark. For those saying Cap isn't a superhero, you're full of sht and know nothing about the lore.

All in all, I think it will come down to Cap's personality and acting just as Downey Jr. made Iron Man.

2 days before Captain America opens, and Rotten Tomatoes doesn't have any reviews for it. Methinks this is a big "uh oh" for a movie that I thought I wanted to see. Now I'm not so sure.

For some reason I have a crazy desire to see this movie, but as of right now they are only listing 3D showings, so I guess I'll have to wait for a little while. :\

In the film, the shield has a computer AI and it speaks to Cap.

First, most posts above are ignorant.

Second, America has lost it's pride. No one knows their neighbor anymore. If all hell breaks loose your worst enemy is those next-door to you.

Movie looks great. Really looking forward to it.

The "leaked" Avengers trailer was most excellent as well.

Over all, very pleased with the building up of the Avengers movie. I hope it follows the Ultimates very closely when they battle the Hulk.

What will be interesting is how they take a guy who has no real super powers and make a movie out of it.

He'll be the first non-super super hero.

And what are they going to do with him in the avengers movie? Cap'n can't stand up next to Thor or Iron Man. Will be interesting to see how they work him in with the 'real' super heros.

What super powers does iron man have?

None, he has a freaking suit..

Neither does Batman, which I always thought was stupid... Ive never read any comics, but Ive heard Batman beat some really powerful characters, and it makes me wonder how the hell is that possible?? All he has is his gadgets... If he met any reasonably strong super hero like silver surfer hed get trashed in 0.1 seconds
