Fall Out Boy wrote a song about the 27 club:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34pVWYiJ86M

It practically sounds like it was written for her: "I'd want it so bad I'd shoot the sunshine into my veins... ...The milligrams in my head; burning tobacco in my wind... ...doing lines of dust and sweat, off of last night's stage.

RIP Amy, I always meant to give her stuff a listen, but never quite got around to it.

Sad but true, strange that people around her did not do any intervention.
With her concert being cancelled because of her collapsing/falling this was the end result.

Interventions don't work unless the person being "intervened" wants them to work. You can't make an addict stop doing drugs, drinking, smoking, whatever...unless that addict WANTS to stop.

you're the forum's version of Westboro Baptist Church.

don't you have a gay funeral to protest? or a dog to kick?

well.. duh?
you know.. social means actively participating in communications with others.

that and... mrjminer has not made any friends is quite telling in your profile (and the fact the last few visitors have been mods/admins)

Not to defend his douchebaggery, because even though I'm not surprised nor sad at the death of Amy Whinehouse...claiming to celebrate her death is pure douchebaggery...however, having "friends" in your profile means nothing. It MIGHT come as a surprise, but many of us reject such "requests."
I don't know any of you...so even though I may not "dislike" you, you're NOT my friends...although some of you, if we met in REAL LIFE, perhaps we could be friends.

The "I have 795 friends on Facebook, look how popular I am, even though I never get out of the basement" thing is highly overrated...

I have a handful of friends here. Most of them, I actually met and knew socially when living in Chicago.

the others I accepted because they seem like nice enough folks. But I tend to ignore requests, as well. I'm not a facebooker and I have the same skeptical view on the social network phenomenon of "friend."

You and I are separated by a few generation, but believe me when I tell you that we tend to share the same sort of old world values in certain areas.

I heard about her binging before I ever heard her music.

When I finally looked her up, I was like 'Holy crap, this music is awesome!'

One hell of an artist.

Never liked any of her music. Her voice was quite annoying to me.

Not sure why everyone is faking sadness over someone they don't know at all.

This is a condolence thread. If you just want to troll go to any other thread in OT

You are right you are a moron if you are actually physically sad at her passing. As you say non of us know here. You are also a moron if you think that's what the majority of us are saying when we say it's sad she died.

It is strange how they say the cause is unknown.... Everybody knew what the root cause is...

Suicide is a terrible thing. This one just took 27 years to complete.

D:No, one does not hope for another's death. /
I do, when it's justified. There are are certain people that world is simply better off without. Amy Winehouse, however, was not one of them.

Hardly surprising, but still sad.

Very true she committed suicide slowly. As all addicts do. But of course the reason they state they don't have a cause of death is technically speaking they really don't have one yet.

She may have killed herself through addiction, but you know there are people around her who enabled her.

Those people share equal blame for this happening. They are the ones who were in the best position to help her and they are the one who let her down.

Lots of people (we?) live in a culture where they think others should "mind their own business". People lose friends trying to be good friends (e.g. "I think your boyfriend's a douche bag").
