An AMD DDR motherboard question for all

I am about to buy a new computer and was thinking about getting a DDR board versus an sdram board with 512k of ram. I am going to get an AMD 1.33 ghz or 1.4 GHZ. I want the best system I can buy. Are the DDR boards faster right now? Which one should I get? I have heard that the Abit KG7-Raid is coming out at the end of the month and can support up to 4 GB of Ram. Any comments? Thanks!!

Oh......I forgot to add that I want the RAID hard drive setup

If you are planning to buy everything from scratch, and not porting over your current memory, then yes, go for a DDR board since they are slightly faster than the old SDR boards (and DDR memory is basically the same price as PC133 now!).

If you already have invested into tons of RAM from previous systems, then maybe you could save yourself a few bucks and keep your current memory for the new mobo (and then just use a KT133A mobo).

I'm guessing you mean 512 MB. Anyway, EP-8K7A+ is a good performer, solid, and has on-board RAID. It's hard to find right now though...looking for one myself.

From what I have seen the only DDR solution that is currently available that beats a KT-133A is one that has an AMD 760 chipset. The Epox EP-8K7A+ is a good example of this. There is supposed to be a new DDR chipset that will give even better performance from SiS with the number 735 I think. But it is not currently available. Course then you could always wait for the NVIDIA NForce chipset this fall right? I was just putting a system together with the non-raid version of that Epox board and it seems to be going really well.
