Anyone else see a problem here?

Hope you like using 2GB of RAM after paying for 12GB. XP32 has a 4GB total memory cap, which ... will include the 2GB VRAM on the GTX295 ... oh, wait, you want two of those ...

Methinks you'd better grow to like Vista64 or Win7 pretty fast or this 'Ubersystem' is dead before it even gets built.

It's obvious that he was talking about the 64-bit Windows XP version.
Because anyone planning an "Extreme Gaming PC" build would know about the 32-bit XP memory limit.

I put vista ultimate 64-bit more than once, and yes anyone should know that any 32-bit operating system has a 3GB ram limit. I was unaware that the solid slate drive had a ram limit, as it was suggested to me by someone in this thread. And why would I use windows xp when it does not support directx10, that would be slightly silly. The use of the word extreme has nothing to do with how serious I am. Would you like me to use a different vernacular?

If you want truly extreme, why not Raid 0 (or whatever the striped one is ) like 6 of the Intel SSD you chose and have that 1tb for purely media files from an NAS that has a few 1tb drives instead? Nothing is going to beat that kind of performance

Can anyone suggest a aftermarket CPU cooler? and since I plan on having something that extreme so I go for over kill and use 12GB of RAM instead of just 6GB

I know the Zalman 9700 is an older cooler, but I run 2 of them & they both work fine for my systems...For a system like the one you want to build, I'd definitely go with at least a 1200w PS & 8 GB of RAM...My Silverstone PS's run fine...I know not everyone is a fan of them, so read some reviews before you buy...NewEgg does carry their products & I believe they have a modular 1200w unit...Those 295's are very power hungry cards, so you're going to need a ton of power to run those in Quad SLI...Might at well go for a SATA Raptor HDD while you're at it as your primary drive...

thanks for the suggestion, I figured they did, I will read up on 1200w PSU's I am pretty set on the other stuff, I think I will just go with a SATA raptor HDD for my main drive, especially if solid slate drives have limitations or at least that is what someone who posted in hear made it sound like. The only thing I have to do is track down a reputable online reseller of the Samsung HD series, newegg doesn't sell them
