The guy that could possible changed the world was murdered. He was the guy that made cars run on "WATER". Here's the link. I think he was killed by a Government agencies. I mean imagine if this technology would of taken off. It would cripple the oil industry and anyone that has money into oil stocks and what not (bush, and other peeps i can't think of LOL). What you guys think?

you realize the guy died in 1998. well before Bush was president. He was still govenor then. and Oil then was dirt cheap.

anyhow the problem is that his little invention violates the first law of themodynamics.

I'll leave it at that.

Well it seems they figured a way around that. Watch that other link. Some Filipino dude actually has a car running on water now. I dont know when this video was made, but we can make cars run on water right now. But of course we won't see it happen until the oil companies can figure a way to make money off of it.

is there any truth at all to this guy's invention?

how do you get a patent if your invention is bogus?

Interesting link I googled that explains the science behind water and energy.
http://witcombe.sbc.edu/water/chemistryelectrolysis.html

Thermodynamics says it's impossible as it takes as much energy to split the water molecule as the energy gained from the hydrogen. But with catalysts, the reaction could be sped up and made more efficient so that you can actually gain something from the reaction. But the problem now is finding that catalyst.
Point being, his invention is possible with the introduction of a catalyst.

From Wikipedia:

It Runs on Water is a video with Stanley Meyer demonstrating the water fuel cell in a car. Meyer claimed that he could run a 1.6 liter Volkswagen dune buggy on water instead of gasoline. He replaced the spark plugs with "injectors" to spray a fine mist into the engine cylinders, which he claimed were electrified at a resonant frequency. The fuel cell would split water into hydrogen and oxygen gas, which would combust back into water vapor in a conventional hydrogen engine to produce net energy. Estimates made showed that only 22 US gallons (83 L) of water were required to travel from one US coast to the other. Meyer also demonstrated his vehicle for his city's local news station Action 6 News.

The vehicle failed to work during a required demonstration of the water-fueled car in a 1990 court case. An Ohio court found Stanley Meyer guilty of "gross and egregious fraud" in a case brought against him by disgruntled investors. The court decided that the centerpiece of the car, his water fuel cell, was a conventional electrolysis device, and he was ordered to repay the investors $25,000.

Stanley Meyer died after eating at a restaurant on the 21st March 1998. An autopsy report showed the cause of death to be poisoning, leading to widespread conspiracy theories[6] regarding the oil companies' and the US government's involvement in his death. The question still remains, however that somehow this vehicle ran on water. A satisfactory answer to this question has yet to have been resolved.

so perhaps it was not a conspiracy but someone who he owed money to or his wife who was pissed that he cost them a fortune....just a thought

Sounds more likely to me. If the government did it there wouldn't be any
traces of poison. :Q

The car might "run on water", but that isn't everything. It still needs an electric power source as was shown in his demo.

Cars running on water . You can't make cars run on water since you need energy to break the H-O bonds and IDEALLY, you would get the same amount of energy back when they H-O-H bonds reformed, therefore, you get NO NET ENERGY, and nothing to power the car with.
