Anand and the others' rigs.

I would like to know what Anand's rig is, as well as the rest of the editor's rigs.

I beleive many have the same curiosity as I do.

Though I think their rigs may not be static, what with so many components making it through their hands. I wonder what they do with the engineering samples and review samples they getf for free or buy. Must be fun. For a while at least.

If I'm not mistaken Anand is messing around with an Apple duallie G5 these days. I'm not sure what his PC is like...

I do think they have killer rigs; I mean... if either you or I where editors or reviewers and we had gorgeous products passing by our hands, I guess that we would inevitably keep one or two for ourselves, no?

And yes, Anand last said he had a Dual G5 with him, but never said he left his PC.

Come guys... tell us.

I'm sure they have decent setups for work... and of course they have some high end rigs set up for testing new parts. But I don't think they keep the samples they get... I might be mistaken, but I think with a lot of preview samples, they're sent to them for a period of time after which they have to return them.

I'm sure they have decent setups of their own too... but I kinda doubt any of them are running a dual Opteron 250 rig with an x850XT PE or something like that.

Well, not saying it's the case, but sometimes you are simply happy with the rig you have because it does everything you want well. At one point I always wanted the best rig possible. As long as it does what you want it to do anyway... Hence why I have an Athlon 64. And anywho, I would hope if anyone, Anand would know SLI is a ripoff and save his bucks.

You guys have absolutely no clue, do you? Anand do get to keep the parts they review (most of the time) and if they can't keep anything, they simply go out and buy it. If I am not mistaken AMD and Intel both send out a few high-end CPUs to all their labs. Plus AnandTech generates around $1.2 million in advertisements, so they do have the power to buy things on their own.

Anand could care less about SLI. He makes so much money and he gets so much stuff that he probably doesn't even care what system he has as long as he is getting his work done.

Let's not forget that AnandTech has been around 8 years, which means hands on testing on a lot of high-end parts. Anand probably doesnt' even get excited much about the hardware like the rest of us. Companies are calling him everyday, so now it's his job.
