However, given how often I drive over my notebook, gosh it seems like that happens every day, maybe I should look into a Thinkpad.
That is my problem with Apple laptops- when it comes time to fix them they are TERRIBLE. I have had many, and inside thanks to their "build quality" you have to mess with special small screws, parts that "just fit" together (and therefore require force to get them apart), and tons of tape. I have had a few, and my family have had a few and going forward I would much rather a Lenovo due to the fact that I can actually fix a Lenovo without dedicating a weekend.
As far as Mac desktops go- don't get me started. Except for the Mini (which I have convinced myself is a HTPC and not a regular PC to feel better about its existence), the Mac desktop lineup can really make you feel like Apple is in a holy way with geeks. Yep that is exactly what I want in a desktop Apple- something that is JUST as difficult to replace parts in as your notebooks!
The sad part is that I have loved OSX before Panther, so I keep getting drawn to their computers. Thank God for hackintoshes so I don't have to mess with their desktops, that is probably the only reason I have stuck with OSX. Of course now that Lion is coming out with a bunch of features that scream "we are gonna merge this with iOS on the next update!" maybe its time for me to move on....
