The implication is that you would
like to see ATI fail. Plus you somehow know exactly what a card that doesn't even exist yet will cost. I'm all for having a sensible discussion about these cards if you want, but that is NOT the way to do it.
I don't mind watching ATI take it on the chin a while:
A. It's defenders are pretty self righteous
Not too much offense taken... I think. I hope we can discuss video cards without having to call each other names (ie, 'fanATIc'/'nVidiot') or resorting to FUD (ie, 'even if ATI comes out with a faster card, it'll still suck').
Matt2: . Please try to choose your words a little more carefully in the future. If you were trying to be funny, it didn't come across that way to me.
B. Failure spurs them to make better stuff, in the end, we all win!
Competition ftw.
ATI says they've sorted out their 90nm manufacturing problems, so hopefully things will start to turn around in terms of availability and pricing. X1800XLs have already started to come down in price, which is an encouraging sign. If more X1800XTs start showing up this week (like several stores are saying they should), that will be another good sign.
I'm all for bashing a company when they do something incredibly stupid. Bashing ATI because of supply issues stemming directly from technical problems (which they say have already been resolved) is kind of pointless. It's not like they're purposefully doing this.
