Great stuff. A big Thank You to all who have been folding away steadily recently!
(I'm inactive at F@H myself since a while now, but I helped during last winter at least...)

IIRC it's just 1.5 years ago that we achieved rank 20.

We have the least amount of active users (43) out of the top teams, so imagine if we were able to add another 20-30 people folding for our team (hint hint for anyone reading this thread ).

That reminds me, I need to figure out how to get F@H working on Breath Weapon. I tried reinstalling it, but it didn't detect my GPUs.

Edit: Well actually it detected one of two, then ran that WU on a CPU core.

Well, not to be a hog, but since I do 48% of all points for TeAm at 8 million ppd, you are welcome ! I am actually at 66% capacity right now for F@H due to the hot weather. I could be at 12 million ppd in a minute if it cooled down. The whole team is only at 16 million ppd.

I semi-jokingly touched on this subject in a different....uh, 'thread' but, seriously, I wonder what your ppd (and power usage/heat) would be if you were successful in UNDERclocking your GPUs.....

I haven't the brain for it myself, but it's always fascinated me that you could run (sometimes/some cards) less voltage than the factory set it for, and still maintain stock speeds....

You might hit 95% capacity at only 65% of the power....

I've tried underclocking my GPUs. It doesn't have much effect on power use that I can see. Setting a power limit seems to be much more effective. I also think the power monitor doesn't measure RAM power use, so underclocking that might help too. I should stick my Kill-A-Watt on a computer for an objective measurement.

However, I have been wrong before.

If I purchased what you have running, my wife would kill me, or make me sleep on the couch. But probably kill me.

Since the hot weather has been here, I have been setting the power limit to 70%, and it has cut down on the heat output, and reduces the power usage. I'd have to measure it again, but the last time I looked, it saves a good 40w.

Edit

I just checked, and it is a 30w - 35w difference on this GTX 1080ti by reducing the power limiter down to 73% from 100%.

Yup. I realize that as a 64 year old single guy with lots of money to burn, and having cancer, I am a little more obsessed with F@H..

If you could see my house, you would understand that no sane woman would ever let me do what I do. (3 computers in every room, and all with one or 2 video cards in every computer producing heat)

I have a bunch of parts I'm getting ready to list for sale, and I had them on the kitchen table while I took pictures, and boxed them up. My wife was not very happy about that.....at all.

I now know for the future to not to use the dining room table as a computer staging area.

This computing habit of mine (I have a similar situation to you, though my fleet isn't nearly as large), is possibly one small reason that I'm still single.

Unfortunately, I have a small apt., with apparently a single 20A circuit for both my bedroom and living room.

Currently, have two PCs in bedroom crunching, and three in living room. 8 GPUs total, with one more on the way soon.

Assuming that my hardware holds up, and I'm still living here in Dec., then I'm definitely looking forward to my average daily PPD during the Dec. F@H race with these rigs.

(Currently using them for mining, I need the money.)

Edit: VERY Good news, I discovered something in my breaker box, there are a few outlets on their own circuits, or pretty-much so. I've moved a couple of rigs to the living-room "A/C outlet wallplate", and plan to hook up my 6-GPU open-frame rig there, on my dining-room table.

Could probably turn it to DC when I'm not mining, which probably won't be anytime soon, but who knows. At least, it will be there in Dec.
