Will give it a couple of days, but I'd say that I prefer the old forum system, just like when HardForum moved to XenForo a couple of months back.

I'm using the latest version of IE and I keep getting "only secured content is displayed" on every forum page I go. Just something to look into for you admin folks.

Overall I'm OK with it. It looks nice to me (I am colorblind however, so that's a qualifier).

A few technical issues need to be fixed obviously but I would expect that to be the case.

I in my first visit since the change already miss the "Time last online" feature. Will it be returning?

I don't particularly like the the theme, it's too bright but I can always adjust my monitors brightness to avoid it.

Lack of edit button is due to the permissions issue with user groups at the moment. Sit tight, that will be addressed in short order, by EOD at least.

Posts per page is likely staying at 20 in the interest of load speed. Almost all the modern forum software platforms have a less than 25 setting here. Though we might look into possibly increasing the default of 20 at some point. (We need to see what load times are like once we have some data)

Default theme is intentionally lighter, and intentionally vanilla, since we didn't want to do too much to start with the massive transition from vBulletin to XenForo. A dark theme is on our top 3 for post-launch wishlist items, and has been requested for a looooong time. Shouldn't be too tough, either, since there are a few variants of this theme we can use.

Likes are staying - it's part of core XenForo. You don't have to use 'em, but the kids like 'em.

yes, please remove the likes. AT seemed pretty unique without this clubby/cliquish system of points and voting. We form alliances through clever, witty...and sometimes downright nasty putdowns and praises of our allies and nemesi. Likes and points is just empyt and lazy, saps personality and eliminates the concept of community.

...this is supposed to be community, right? There is a reason why likes/points/trophies have been absent here for years, and it isn't because the forums were "outdated," it is because those are recognized as value-less "features."

I'm also seeing "alerts" pop up every second--remember that time, in the earlier days of the www, where pop up ads were a thing that EVERYONE universally hated? Guess what--people still hate garbage popping up on their browser. Doesn't matter where it pops up, and for what reason, but no one wants it.

Alert preferences are just one of the many user settings that can be customized on your Account Page. Once you're done setting up your alerts, I recommend you check out the rest of your Account Page. Loads of options to chose from. If there is a setting you'd like to change that is missing let me know. We may be able to add it down the road!

Ahh, we've gone SSL, you'll note. Are you using the https? Or have you bookmarked http?

Make default even 10 if you want to.
But, please, give users the option for more!
Thx

1. There should be options for posts per page. 25 is way too low.
2. This default theme is a little too bright, so an option for a more muted theme would be nice.
I agree completely.

Let's give them time to iron everything out. Something was bound to break.

less than 75 or 100 posts per page is unmanageable. We don't want to click through 20 pages of what should be a 3 page thread.

Likes are just, just...awful. There has to be a way for users to eliminate them, right? This isn't facebook. I come here because it isn't facebook. what a garbage concept. worst thing is that this button is next to the reply button. How about putting it next to the report button, eh?

For some reason those messages have stopped now.

I noticed the top advertisement didn't load when I was getting those messages, now that the top advertisement is there I don't get them anymore, not sure if coincidence but that might have been it. I didn't do anything to make the messages stop.

Yes, the bright white theme...not asking for a entirely dark one, but more blue/ contrast would be nice.

No predefined selection of avatars? Guess it's time for an entirely new one.

I actually don't mind the white colour, more blue would be a nice thing to add just as long as were given options to select from a few themes.

We hope to have a small variety of themes to choose from down the road. We went straight vanilla just for the launch.

I would love to see a better way to see the time of a post as right now you only see it on the bottom of each post instead of the normal top of it.

This whole design is bloated beyond belief. Look how much vertical space a single word reply up. It's ridiculous.

The right side is atrocious.

Like vshah, I also want the forum navigation returned to the left side (I suspect Ken probably has or will have a greasemonkey script to fix this though).

Likes? Get rid of them. Trophies? Get rid of them. These things are not things you should ever see on a tech forum. This isn't Facebook, and this should never be Facebook.

That bar on the top that stays there? Awful. The arrows on the bottom right when you scroll? Awful.

The quick-nav menu that needs to be loaded when you click on it and is so small that you need to endlessly scroll to use it? Awful.

Not being able to see a post by hovering over it on the thread view without loading? Awful.

20 replies per page? Awful.

I'm sure there are more stupid things in this change, but these are the first ones that jump out to me.

Definitely want 100+ post per page.

I don't know of the right rail is going anywhere, guys. Sometimes they're there for ad placement purposes.
