Anandtech is loading VERY slowly

even slower than 56k. It took me over 30 seconds to just open up this message window.

I already cleared cookies

Using firefox

Vista or XP OP ? , I have found Vista using a wireless usb nic to be 56k slow, but fast in XP.

I find myself rebooting to XP and the site loads pretty normally, but in Vista it takes minutes with constant refreshes to get a page to load...

It's not consistent - and it doesn't matter what browser I am using - IE, FF 2.X, or Opera 9.22.

Right now it is flying though.

holy God.....it takes 2 minutes to load no matter the main screen, or reply to a message....is there something wrong with the servers for the last 6 weeks? It's been horrid.

It's been extremely slow on my Vista desktop for a few weeks. It loads much much slower than dial up. It's not even bearable. This is for IE 7 and Firefox.

However, on the same exact connection, my XP laptop loads the site just fine. Althouth the site seems to be running EXTREMELY slow today in particular, for either machine.

It's weird and I wish it could be fixed. I prefer to use my vista machine for checking the site.

It seems lightning fast right now but it was a sloth earlier today.

Reinstalled Vista today due to a new Mobo/CPU upgrade and the forum is once again lightning fast...So, seem to have been my PC, as to what caused the slowdown is anyone's guess.

Update. The forums seemed to be running fine, then I installed Kaspersky AV. The site takes an age to load when KAV is monitoring my system.

Well, on my vista machine (the slow one ) I am running the free AOL version of kapersky. My XP laptop is using antivir and runs AT fine

Edit: Well kapersky is the problem. Closed it and AT runs fine.
