Two comments, two views...

Thanks for adding something on the side to make me feel like that ad space is not being "Wasted." Unfortunately, it can't be on the right side for some reason (advertisers want to piss us off, probably), but at least we now have a decent (IMHO) compromise. Thanks again.

Second, it's ridiculous that the tabs on the top have to require a 1024 pixel browser... many of us don't like our browser windows to be that wide. I personally don't have any need to get back to the main site from the forums (typically I keep them both open in separate windows), so the tabs are utterly useless anyway. However, those who know, will know what to do about fixed-size graphics that cause horizontal scrolling.

(just FYI, Jason, I do not advocate removing the ads, but I see nothing wrong with modifying one's usercontent to fix a design that's fundamentally broken from an accessiblity point of view, and it can be assured that the offending fixed-width header will not be visible to anyone using Mozilla on my computer)

I'm down at work where I have my nicer monitor (1280 x 1024 res) and this looks slick! I hope it works out on my 17" CRT at home too.

I hate this look. Who cares about all these tabs. I never read Anandtech anymore, but it eats up a third of my laptop screen.
It's a case of if it's not broken, don't fix it. I like the old look that we had for years.

One comment - is it just me or does the abbreviation of all of the forum names in the menu just look... bad? Or something? Doesn't look right. Couldn't you just put the full forum names there and let them wrap? Or only abbreviate the longest couple?

The menu on the left is a great addition. I just don't like the colored top ad area. Why does it have to have a color at all ? Everyone has a different color scheme so...

It's not just you, I think the abbreviations look pretty silly as well...but I'm only seeing some of them as abbreviated, not all.

You know, I just looked again, and they look even sillier. On almost all of them, the ellipses take more space than the actual full name would!

I think the white space after the blue bar could use some work. Spread the buttons out or move the buttons. Either way, decrease the space since the buttons don't take up the entire height.

These changes in one week is a little overkill, don't know if I'll ever get used to this.

Weird, I refreshed and the memory add on the top just changed in something which is much better in size! Hopefully it stays that way! The ad on the left is really killing me! How long do we need to view that hideous thing there?? One thing is for sure, I will never ever buy anything from a brand that makes such ugly and annoying things! Yuck!

The Anandtech tab at the top should really be optional, when I want to visit the main anandtech site, a simple link is more then enough.
It's nice to see you spending time in trying to improve the look and feel of the forums, but as of now, your going to fast in the wrong direction.. Please turn it back the way it was a few days ago, I think I can live with that update.

To get an overview of the opinions of the members, start a NEW poll and add some GOOD choices. The last poll only had positive choices If you're asking opinions, that's not a good way to do so.
To me it looks like the blue bars (I don't mind the color though) and the add/menu on the left is causing the most negative reactions.
