well, here are a few pics of my new lian li case. i didn't get finished transferring everything until late in the evening that night and have yet to 'tidy up'. i need to get a new sata power cable from Performance PC's so the cable comes from under the drives instead of over and a new windowed side panel with a rectangular window. i think that would be better since it would allow only the mobo area to be seen and not the hdd/optical drive cages.

I have been a huge fan of the Half-Life Series since 1998 and I always wanted to build a HL themed PC mod....This is my tribute to Gordon Freeman.

These are my most recent pictures, but since then I have replaced the Cooler Master V8 with a Corsair H50. System specs are in my sig, Any Half-Lfe fans out there?

Mods Performed:
Cable management, painted interior case satin black/Orange, sound dampening on base and side panel, cut holes in motherboard tray for the 8pin power connector, backplate and another hole behind drive bay, cut front and back fan grills out for better airflow, cut hole on bottom so I could flip the psu, modded white cathode kit to orange color, replaced the blue leds from front bezel/hdd status light to orange leds, Soldered orange leds in the 2 front AC. Ryan fans, added H.L.2 decals.

EDIT:
Latest upgrade: replaced the Coolermaster V8 with a Corsair H50 cpu cooler and removed the ram cooler.

Kinda late to respond, didn't realize I had comments here. The wiring was easy, the back side looks like a train wreck

Damn! your rig looks really clean and I love the red/black theme.

Hey how do you like that fan controller?

Thanks!

I only have one gripe about the controller and that's simply because it's a hair too small for the bay. Lets out some lighting around its edges. Other than that it's been great. I've recently planned some changes, so I'm going to try to tape up the "leaks" when I change some things.

Yeah believe it or not but a lot of 5.25 bay fan controllers have a small gap which lets light out. I have owned 3 different controllers all with this issue. Post some pics of your update!

Having a gap is better than having to scrape away material so a 5.25 device will fit. I think some 5.25 bays are a mm smaller than others, maybe more.

Yikes sorry for the really dark picture. Took it quickly without thinking about lighting.

What a humungus case for so little components
Water cooling?

If this is directed towards me, I'll say that I got a decent deal on the case and I like it more than my P180. As for watercooling, I don't dabble in it.

I have many computers but this is my favourite. I made the intel core I7 finals with this one last year, but alas, did not win. I was shocked that I even made the finals. It is no powerhouse but it does the job. I use it to stream media to my TV from a samba server. Runs ubuntu 9.10 currently. It is an intel littlefalls mobo (D945GCLF), a 80 GB SATA HDD, 2 GB 667 MHz RAM, a recycled fan from an old printer, and a pico PSU. Use a wireless keyboard and mouse so I can surf whilst planted on couch. Made the case from an old Zeiss microscope objective box I picked up in Germany. It looks pretty and was the only way to get a computer on our living room TV that met my wife's requirements that it "not look like a computer". Made a aluminum plate and riser legs to mount everything in it well. Only thing I don't like about it is the CPU fan is a little loud under load. I plan on upgrading it to a Atom D510MO mobo later this year with the passive cooling. Sucks air in the bottom through a small routed slot and ts out back with little case fan. Placed some little cabinet bumpers to lift it off surface a few mm so air can get in.

Celeron 347

Intel Celeron 347 w/stock HSF
MSI Barebone Case
ECS 915PL-A2 Mobo
1 gig DDR 333
NVidia 8400 GS
Sony DVD-ROM
Segate 80G
MSI Barebone PS (Think it's a 350W.)
WinXP Pro

This one is my old Cele that I've since given to my nephew who does his Phonics on it along with whatever else 4 year olds do with computers.

Case and PSU here came from an Barebones build box that included a different mobo. That mobo actually died on me when I took out the CPU's HS one day to clean it. I had it in a real bad spot and I suspect that it was getting pretty hot inside the case. As such likely had one of the surface mount chips break its connection to the mobo when it flexed. (Those push pin HSF mounts really would flex the mobo.)

The video card in the picture is an old ATI Rage Pro Turbo 8M PCI. Its current GPU can be seen in the picture below.

AMD 5000+

AMD 5000+ w/stock HSF
Generic ATX Case
PCChips A15G Mobo
Supertalnet 1 gig DDR2 667 x2
Onboard Nvidia 6100
Sony DVD-ROM
Segate 500g
Echo Star 450W
WinXP Pro
MSI TV@nywhere Plus

My old main rig that now serves as my Orb/file server. The Nvidia 8400 GS shown in this pic is in the above computer now. The fan on the HSF combo for the 8400 died, incredibly cheap HSF setup, but with it's current 'strap on' it's doing fine.

AMD 4450

AMD 4450 w/Silverstone NT07-AM2 80mm HSF
Gateway DX Case
Gigabyte M61SME-S2 Mobo
Wintec 2 gigs DDR2 800 x2
Powercolor 5670 w/512M
WD2500JB HD (250G)
LG DVD-RAM
HP DPS-300VB PS (300W)
Win7 Ult x64

My current rig. Low power setup such that I can keep my room cool in the summertime.

And here is my desk:

The rig is not current. In fact, it does not exist any more. Dates to last millenium, but was finally recycled this Spring. Active use ended early 2005.

I wish I could remember any details, or know how to flip image 90deg to right orientation.
* dual Pentium Pro 200 MHz
* Tyan S1668
* 256 MB (8*32MB)
* SCSI CD-RW
* Asus IDE DVD-ROM
* Narrow and wide SCSI drives, perhaps 1 GB, 1GB, and 4 GB. (One IBM, one Quantum Fireball, ?)
* 80 GB PATA drive, invisible to BIOS
* Front intake, rear exhaust, "two damn small fans" in 5.25 slot in front of one HDD (9-10 fans in total)
* USB via add-on card
* Very late the Matrox Millenium was replaced with GeForce4 MX (IIRC). PCI-model, naturally.
