I think you guys are funny.

You complain about threads that are in the wrong place. But as you do so it just pushes them to the top. If you really want the thread to go away then DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD and *magically* it will GO AWAY!!!

There are 8 posts in this thread in the first 2 hours it was arround (I make 9). Of those, the first reply was the only flame. slope wanted the thread gone. However, his flame prompted 7 replies (mine makes 8) which effectively made this thread appear at the top of the list 8 more times, 9 if you include his post.

So to all the flamers out there, get a life, if you see something that doesn't belong then let it slip away down the list of real threads.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that you should post in the correct section in order to make browsing the forums easier. However, this sixth grade approach of taunting and harrasing the "violator" is rediculous. Don't get me wrong, I had fun in middle school, but it is time to move on.

I will be cross-posting this in the OT forum, please reply there if you have something to say to avoid further disruption of this forum.

This is not an ideal world. The wrong threads won't magically go away, especially when someone purposely post it in the wrong forum. That's why we need the Mods.

turtletaper Your topic post would have a better chance of catching the Mods eye in the Forum Issues. Before doing so I would tone it down a bit.

Members please do not reply to this thread and let it drift to the bottom. Or post in turtletaper's thread in the Forum Issues when started. If you see he does not then start one there of your to inform the Mods.

I think you guys are misinformed. If a thread shows up that doesn't belong here, DO NOT FLAME THEM. Inform them if they are breaking a forum rule and direct them to the correct forum or thread to post in.

You don't have to a Mod to show newbies the ropes around here. We are here to help eachother anyway, so help the newbies.

ALSO: when a thread is in the wrong forum or is asking "where can I get a deal on Widget Computer?", it only takes one post to inform the topic creator. IIRC, the mods stated that posts such as "Lock em up mods" would get perm ban. You decide.

They are busy. The reponsible posters will see people telling them it's off topic and the responsible person upon seeing it should change their topic to asking for a lock.
The mods have lives too and they don't get paid to do this. I did something like this on a mud a couple of years ago and being a volunteer cop is hard enough without that hassling. Course my problem is I love to cheat at computer games.... but that's another story.

I can not believe so many people jumped my ass on this. I wasn't YELLING at the mods, I was just stating that there are some threads that are not hot deals, just discussion threads that normally are locked. Everyday I see people jumping other peoples asses for WRONG FORUM or NOT A HOT DEAL, but when it's something they are concerned about no one says anything (e.g. Thread One or Thread Two)

I wish everyone would stop bitching about this or that, how to do this or that, who does this or that, or because the deal isn't hot enough for you! You are causing MUCH more FORUM CLOG by complaining than the original person that mistakenly posted to the wrong forum.

BTW, no one cares who started a hot deal thread, you DO NOT make money off having the hottest deal to spread around, so QUIT complaining about people stealing your hot deal and posting them.

lol, this is a perfect example to my last bitch about SENIOR MEMBER STATUS not meaning anything. I just saw someone that has been on anandtech for less than a month and is a senior member. I can post 25 messages a day and be a senior member in no time.
