I was told an box came for me at home and I wasn't expecting anything (beyond the SS). I'll report back in about a week (when I get home) or so as to the contents if it is indeed SS-related.

wooohoooooo!

My SS's gift finally got here. I was so worried. I'll ship out tomorrow.

I hope he likes it. He was really vague on his likes, so I just bought something that I would love to have.

Apologies for the drop-ship...one of these years I'll have time to thoroughly prep and send out wrapped stuff.

My box came in and I was going to open it - then I did and found a great card and four wrapped gifts! Soo...I can't open it all early now.

Actually I'd like to suggest next year we start sign ups in October and have everyones info sent out no later than Thanksgiving, it would make shopping and shipping easier.

I think that would work really well. Before I realized it two weeks had gone and I was running out of time.

I'm not suggesting Marty is fucking off. We know he works hard, the problem is its just too much damn work and too little time. And he sure as shit isnt getting paid so I cant expect him to put his life on hold for this project.

My SS gear came as three separate shipments. The Mustanf sign first, then the coasters, then the Axe, Grilling tool and usb power. Amazing work SS! I have his real name, but don't want to post it out for the world to see.

My wife and I were especially impressed to find our wedding anniversary on the coasters! Thanks for adding such a personal touch!

My favorite has to be the axe. It comes in handy for threatening people during conference calls. Thanks so much Secret Santa!

Every year Jeff and I come up with different ideas of how to do things. The hard part with determining how early the sign up thread should be posted is you don't want it up there too long because people get upset that they've seen the same thread stickied for 2 months, OR they put off signing up thinking "Oh, I have all this time to wait" and end up missing the deadline. But in the same sense, you want to give as much time as possible. We figured that giving almost the entire month of November was fair, and not to the point where Christmas was coming too early.

The main issue is the transition from sign-ups to emailing the match-ups out. To be fair, this year was the earliest we have sent the emails of people's match ups which we were extremely happy about. However, it was an issue as there were a few "latecomers" to the party so we had to figure their match-ups as well. The secret santa is never a perfect running greased up machine. There will always be hiccups and inevitably someone may end up being unhappy about it.

We definitely appreciate feedback on how we can make this SS program more efficient, so feel free to chime in. We will take into consideration next year making the thread earlier. Thanks!

Hey Mark,

We all definitely appreciate the hard work you've put into this whole thing and personally I enjoy it each year. I don't know how much work it would take to code this into your existing database but I just had this thought that could make the whole process potentially easier. Have the database setup so that once a year (say mid November) everybody that signed up or "opted in" the previous year gets an e-mail asking them if they want to participate in the ATOT SS program again. The e-mail contains a link that brings up the user's database entry from the previous year and allows them to update it with any necessary changes. It will also have an option to "opt out" of receiving future updates via e-mail on the program and if the user does so their database entry is removed. Yeah, I know it sounds simpler than it is to program but perhaps you or Jeff know enough to implement it.

Jeff and I will bounce that around. I know we emailed previous year participants a couple years back. Thanks for the suggestion. Oh and it's Matt.
