Anandtech should implement this rule

If someone keeps posting crappy threads that get less then 3 stars, they should automatically be banned for 2 days to teach them a lesson and hopefully improve the quality of OT.

Trouble is that a lot of people, who may like the thread, either can't figure out how to rate (which is just sad), or don't care to. So, especially with threads that don't last very long, you could make a thread that the majority found ok, but a couple, uh, vocal members vote you down to nothing.

Having it be based on the rating system is asinine.

The only time I ever bother to rate a thread is to give it a 0 or a 5, and I don't think I'm the only one. Besides, what constitutes a "5" is often quite distant from the quality of the OP. A terrible OP followed by a number of witty responses and a complete divergence from the original idea might warrant a 5, for example. See the bulk beef thread...a clear "5" in anyone's book. Or maybe a 0. The internet doesn't do anything halfways.
