Anandtech Super GT 500 Racing League (drivers needed!)

Sorry guys i meant to be there. ong story short was in the garage working and the clock out there is an hour behind still. Didnt realize this till it showed 5:30 and i ame in to race and noticed it was actually 6:30. My bad on that. And now for some reason my pc is saying its 5:45 too >.<

As for other days. Sunday night works for me. Tuesday and thursday nights i would also be free as the gf has night classes then.

I got so busy with moving and changing jobs that I basically forgot

I haven't had my PS3 and chair set up for several weeks anyway, I just got home theater back together again last night.

If we do a GT500 series, I'm in.

We started the GT500 series about 3 weeks ago, but after the first race it seems like everyone got busy and we ended up with only 2-3 cars. We were considering changing times, or something to get more participation. It could turn out that we just had a bad couple of weeks where some people had other obligations. I think we'll try again this Sunday and see what happens, if we don't get a decent turnout, we'll have to come up with a different idea.

If everyone could, please post whether you think you can make the race this Sunday or not. If not, let us know if a time change would help, or any other ideas. I could possible recruit some drivers if we need to, but I'm trying to keep this within the AT members as much as possible.

Since we had no race last weekend, we'll keep the track we were going to run "Monza", for this Sunday.

I'm all for going later, 8CST is very early for the west coast guys...... but moving it later is going to make it hard for the east coast guys.

Would going 1 hour later help or hurt anyone? We need feedback on what times you guys can live with so we can make a decision.

Wow, really sloppy race start from me.

Hit GTP in the back at the first chicane. At the 2nd chicane boshuter went into one of the blocks and then I ran into the back of him when he bounced off the wall.

Then I stopped at the side of the track to let at least GTP through since I put him off the road.

And sorry supersnake for the hit in the back too at the 2nd lesmo...I wasn't expecting you to come back on the track at that point.

Anyway, great race GTP.

EDIT: Man seriously the way we are all taking that 2nd chicane is ridiculous. It's not done anything like that in real races.

Fun race. Interesting first lap thats for sure. Both chicane's had pile ups. Some how i ended up in front If i might add i even *cough* led for a whole lap! Now to just work on leading for those other 24 laps and i'll be a winner And grats Ride! hope i wasnt screwing you up to bad when you had to see the rear of me. I know im not as aggressive as most of you guys so might have braked in odd spots.

And yeah Thil think that was a bad spot to stop lol. I was lucky and going to the outside anyways or i woulda smacked into you too. Not that you could move anyways after bumping Ride but think only reason i got by was just dumb luck.

Nice to race again though! Now ot just get everyone else back involved.

Velilen, sorry about pushing you off track when I made that pass at the last chicane on lap 6, that was entirely my fault. I did what I'm always complaining about other doing, tried to force a pass at a place that isn't good for passing D:

I don't have a clue what was wrong with me last night, I couldn't do anything right. I couldn't even run by myself without crashing. For some reason, I can qualify up front, but I'm always in last place exiting the first turn. It seems like my car just doesn't accelerate as well as everyone else (or I'm just doing it wrong).

thilanliyan, you are entirely correct about the chicane cutting, the first one and the second one were bad. I guess it was a mistake saying it was ok to cut them.

I'm hoping we get some more of the guys back, the past couple of weeks has hurt our turnout. A couple of the new guys that expressed interest in racing probably just figured we weren't going to make it work and gave up. I may send some pm's and see what I can do to recruit some people.

It's all good! I know i was tyring ot give you a wide berth in the first turn at least thinking you'd do the same and go wide on the next part and then i'd go wide on the last part. More we just hit side to side i think. I didnt lose control really but wasnt sure if it was my fault or not so waited up for ya.

Not at all... it was good fun for those 2 laps. Since cars here tend to stick together as long as you catch their draft I think you would have repassed me at the straight before parabolica if you hadn't gone off at ascari.

So with PSN being down for the most part our race this week might have to be postponed. Just plan on no race this week or wait and see? With it having been down for a good 3+ days i dont see it coming up though.
