Did no update on this but been getting gpu wu all day it looks like Both computers in fact.

Edit: Still going its been non stop for both man talk about blessings. Breaks me when things that should work need mending. Does the client auto update by chance? I haven't restarted pc or the client in like over 2 days straight. It's just been doing its thing.

I’m pulling work on the 1660, r280x, Kaveri APU (wahoo for 30,000 ppd), but the 1080ti is only getting 2 or 3 jobs / day unless I baby sit it. I’m hoping it starts to pickup regular jobs too - I would love for it to be set it and forget it.

Yeah just about every hour while awake,i go and check and so far its been all good. Sometimes when i wake up at night to hit the can,i find myself checking both then as well. Depends if friend is home, he is often away at the other house and during those times i just open the window in his room let cool air in to help keep that 1060 as cool as possible to help it boost a bit further. I should oc it a bit soon i forgot to when i put it in there.

Any ppd is better then anything, i had thoughts of tossing my gtx285 in here but i would have to roll back to drivers prior to the 1080ti release. When i do upgrades next month, i should have a fully functional i5 2500/1050ti rig prob to toss in the mix as well. The 1050ti going out to friend who is getting a pc built hopefully in Aug when she comes down from Toronto so i may just grab idk something decent and slap back in with the 2500. Perhaps a used 1070 as that would max out the platforms capabilities besides another 8gb and a i7 2600/3770 perhaps. Not sure if i wanna invest all that much into such a old thing.

You definitely should register for a F@H Passkey. The points bonus for completing work units quickly is huge. I get a capability speed of more than 1 million points per day with 1 CPU and 1 GPU (in practice less than that because of the long waiting time between work units).
The useful work for science research is the same in the end, but if you're chasing points that's the definite way.

The r250x is a 6 year Old low end video card (it was $100 at launch), and the Kaveri is the integrated APU video card built into the 5 year Old A10-7870K, which was something like $140 at launch. I never would have guessed that super old hardware would get 100,000+ppd.

Nah that's not super old! My HD 7970 & 7870XT are 8yrs old & would get 125/100k ppd . The HD 7970 won't now as it's boxed, but you get my point.

Hoping everyone is having a good morning, i woke up nice and early to see both clients hard at work. I got some very nice low temps right now. I may consider some overclocking, anyone got any ideas on a super easy oc guaranteed to work? I am sitting at 71cel and this thing is begging for a overclock. 1080ti here in case anyone new sees this or something.

The 1080ti (~1.4M) + 5700xt (~1.1M) was a pretty potent combo when they could get WUs. Just the 1080ti and the RX 470 and GTX 950 now as the UPS box with the 5700xt is arriving at VisionTek RMA location today

Now blckgffnAnonymous made a mysterious 140K contribution this week! lol, I need to figure out which darn client that is, I already verified my GTX 950 client (which was the one where I failed in the Copy/Paste of user info in the first place).

Argh! Installed 7.6.9 (Win). Deletes data directory - meh, copying config files must be hard
Fine, start re-customizing. No GPU slot. NP, adds GPU slot. Nada. It was fine b/4. Checks GPUs.txt just in case, yeah, it's there in the list.
Changes the index, just in case. Nada. All this to get 1-2 GPU WUs a day . Need more coffee (it's too early for adult beverages ).

Hello all.
I'm not sure it's possible to hijack this tread as it's been all over the place...
The WU drought has got me to spend some time trying Linux (Mint) again. There was some really useful advice in the vicinity of pg. 7, but I could use a little more.

I have a rock solid retired Dell workstation with 2 GPU slots and a good but underpowered PSU to use as a dedicated folder. In order to run both GPU's, I need to power-limit one of them. No problem in Windows, Linux... not so much.
Please, what is the command to limit GPU power in a multi-GPU system?
Does it have to be reentered every reboot like the nvidia fan control?
Both GPU's are nvidia--1070ti and 2070.

In forums and searches I have found that there is much conflicting (mostly dated) info regarding this and I'm stumped. Tired of getting "Fallback Mode". At least that taught me about Timeshift and I don't have to start from scratch anymore. Maybe I'm out-thinking myself with search terms.

Maybe a bit off topic but i wanted to share this wonderful thing i hope many of you as kind loving giving people will want to join. I hope to find a spot at a plastic inject molding factory perhaps very soon, like this week maybe. I got experience so it should be damn easy for me to land a job. Fight this on both fronts, use folding@home to maybe fix while using the 3d printer to print masks while i could perhaps be in the factory as well .Would need a second hand perhaps with keeping the printer/computer working if we work the front lines making masks.

With all that being said, prob just gonna get a 2080ti as its ppd will benefit more then a platform then invest the rest of the stimulus/May check into a printer and ppe for factory/possible human interactions.

sudo nvidia-smi -pl ### [-id #]
Replace ### with the desired board power target in Watts.
If you want to set separate limits for each card, first find out the IDs with nvidia-smi -L, then use above command with the extra -id argument.

Yes. This does not persist through reboots, nor through driver unload/ reload.

Yeah, not signed (dumb, but not a problem) - maybe because they are trying to open source the GUI? I guess I'm going to have to download the previous version and see what happens.

I was only able to find the v7.6.8 installer on the f@h client download mirror as the oldest release for the v7.6.x release line.

I upgraded to the latest version, at the time I wished I hadn't due to installation problems (setting it up again as per Ajay's post #766), but it has been ok since.
