ClassicShell needs to be on the latest version (4.30) to be able to run on the latest Windows 10, build 14393.10.
How destructive was this update - did it reset many settings?
Updated and went smooth and no hick-ups. I downloaded the 1607 ISO and installed from that within Windows 10 pro.
When I tried using the ISO on my laptop it wanted to clean install rather than update. I'm glad that I waited a few hours and tried the upgrade tool because it was able to perform the install keeping everything. The strange thing is that the 1511 install was a clean install from last month so there shouldn't have been an issue with it.
The Defer Updates setting would have deferred this update, right?
.....
but I really dislike this model of updates, basically a OS reinstall... it takes some time in mechanical hard drives, changes settings (and some drivers)... and MS is very keen on changing major features of the OS.......
Did you boot from the ISO or run setup from the ISO inside of Windows 10?
I ran the setup from inside Windows 10 after extracting the files from the ISO.
I guess this is old news, but one very nice thing going from Win 7 to Win 10 is getting 1080p Netflix. I'm using the Netflix metro app.
It never mattered to me on my other Win 7 machines, since they only have 768p screens anyway, but on my main machine it makes quite a noticeable difference - 24" 1920x1200 monitor 2 feet away from me on my desk.
BTW, I'm assuming this is 1080p h.264 AVC. This machine has no 4K screen nor does it have hardware HEVC decoding. Do only HEVC-capable machines get HEVC options in Windows 10 Netflix?
Yup. I ran the install from inside Windows 10 off a DVD, and updated just fine. But it's updating as if it's upgrading Windows 10 to Windows 10, with a complete old Windows.old directory saved. This is the same process as going from Windows 7 to Windows 10, like doing a near-new OS install. So if you're short on space, you'll want to clean that up to capture some space back.

AFAIK 4K is only supported on the 4K TV apps. I haven't seen any mention of getting 4K support to PCs yet.
Broke bridged Ethernet mode on Vmware. Had to go to switch the VMs to NAT. And it told me that my HP printer was running with minimal features. Other than that, everything went fine.
BTW, after cleaning up the system files, including the old install of Windows 10 1511, I recovered something like 16 GB or so worth of space.
