"The offer includes the original Anarchy Online. Our Expansion Packs, Shadowlands, Alien Invasion and Notum Wars are not included in this offer."
I played AO for over two years. It's a fun game if you like mmorpg's. The nice thing about it is the game didn't feel like a copy of any other mmorpg. Such as when I played dark age of camelot it felt just like everquest.
I guess this is a good deal if you don't want to spend any money but want to play a mmorpg. But there's a catch if you care about your character or gear. The original doesn't have tons of gear and areas you could be at. I think most people level in the Shadowlands now because the XP there is so much better.
Although I haven't played in a long time I bet people are still in Shadowlands leveling, so it may be hard to find a team. I haven't tried any of the Alien Invasion add ons but I'm sure tons of people are now in areas that AI lets you go and people with out it can't.
It sounds more of a trick to get you in the game playing so you will notice all the stuff your missing. Then you end up paying so you can have that uber item or travel where your friend(s) always go.
I play World of Warcraft now, it's fun and more up to date than most other mmorpgs. So if you think you may be one of the people to end up paying then you will most likely want to grab a copy of WoW instead.
