Pearl Jam hasta be one of my LEAST favorite bands of all time, and I like everything from Bach to Nirvana to Jay-Z. I cannot, in any way, see how they are #1.

I also think the reason why some people don't care for Pearl Jam is that they are a very hard band to get into. They are not a very radio-friendly band (1st album excluded) and don't have the "catchy" tunes that the general public likes.

However if you stick with them, you'll find that they are a really good band and have a lot to offer...to me anyways. They cover a really wide spectrum of music...harder material like "Animal", "Blood", "Lukin", and "Hail, Hail" to lighter material such as "Off He Goes" and "All Those Yesterdays".

Yes. The last 2 albums have been week (too much pop influence on the production), but the previous 15 odd albums make up for it. And they have had a handful of good songs on the last 2 albums

Oh, and they are one of the few concerts I've ever been to where they are consistently better live than on the album. Most bands suck live.

They had some great songs that I enjoy, but they are all fluff and showmen, not "Great" musicians, singers, songwriters in any sense of the word.

Bruce definitely should be higher up, but as others mentioned Skynyrd, Boston, Kansas, the Cars, and many others could easily replace much the bands on that list.

showmanship deserves a spot

there's nothing more that i hate than seeing a band that kicks ass on cd only to suck ass live

i don't like aerosmith too much but i (amongst others) think they're pretty talented


as a note, almost any band that can sell records for 20-30 years is pretty fvcking talented
