Yeah just shut down commercial passenger air traffic. That’s a great plan that won’t impact anyone else at all.
I think we’ll be ok without TSA
i want to see the TSA strike and not show up for work nationwide. our air transportation system would come to a halt just like on 9/11. he who proudly owns the shutdown would also own all the inconveniences and problems caused by that and the shutdown would be ended.
Don't forget that the US Coast Guard isn't getting paid during this shutdown either. That's what always made me laugh about Trump and the other Regressives claiming that this was about boarder security. How many kilos of drugs and "bad guys" does the USCG intercept each week? Just wait until they start getting the blue flu as well.

The Coast Guard is being paid as of last week.
Are the TSA government employees or contractors? There was talk a few years back that the GOP was going to privatize the system.
BTW "blue flu" traditionally meant (illegal) job stoppages by police.
*I think* TSA workers are considered essential and they are expected to work without pay during a shutdown
Someone correct me if I’m wrong
shutdowns should shut it all down. Those people arent going to work for 2 years for nothing. This whole thing is dumb af

Well that's a thing which must be changed. No one is forced to work without being paid. If a position is "essential" then don't shut down. That would end this nonsense forever.
Since we live in a dog eat dog society with everybody looking out for themselves and too indifferent to the fate of others, we need more and more people to be affected before anything changes in my opinion.Yeah just shut down commercial passenger air traffic. I agree, I’d like to see retirees, the military and social services benefactors take the hit first. Would make gamesmanship much more painful.
ATC's had a no strike clause in their contract. They walked out, got canned. And the TSA workers would be treated the way Reagan treated the Air Traffic Controllers. I can’t understand hoping for someone else to fall on a sword for my own satisfaction.

Good benefits and a pension after 20 years makes it worth while. Assuming they get either of those.Yep. That's why everyone leaving should be the thing. Of course the TSA is a shitty low paying job. If the economy was half as good as Trump says it is then no one would take the current worker's place.

I'm sure the shit will hit the fan once people actually start missing paychecks. Then it won't just be TSA, either.
Look at how many hijackings there were in the late 1960s through the 70s. Everyone likes hating on airport security, but it does serve a real purpose and it does work, even if only because of the theater.
I doubt they would be very successful at replacing tens of thousands of TSA agents with 3.9% unemployment, especially considering they have to have a clean criminal history. I don't really see how going on strike when you aren't being paid is falling on your sword, more like refusing to work for free. If any company was doing this to their employees they would be screwed, likely forced into bankruptcy. And the TSA workers would be treated the way Reagan treated the Air Traffic Controllers. I can’t understand hoping for someone else to fall on a sword for my own satisfaction.
