Andara Barebones at MicroCenter B&M

Remember the Andara barebones that was available from Overstock this summer?

MicroCenter has them available for $99.99.

I think this is B&M only. It is listed as AMD Barebones System 920934 for $99.99 on MicroCenter's monthly specials page here on the right-side of the page under Build It Yourself.

The web page does NOT have a picture, but their advertising flyer definitely had a picture of the Andara barebones systems that we got from Overstock this summer.

I have been very happy with my two Andara-based systems!

You'll need to factor in $17 ground shipping, so it's $102 for me from Centrix. So this Micro Center deal is just as good.

i saw these in the MicroCenter at St.Davids in PA. The ad list it as having a 250w PS, but the one on display had a 145w PS in it. Go figure. They also have a socket 370 one for the same price!

How is the quality of the case and PS on these units? Overstock has just the Andara case available and it seems like a good deal with the $10 off and low shipping cost. I want to use it with one of those ECS - XP1700 combos from Fry's. Thanks!

better buy motherboard and case. Microcenter has a better motherboard for 79.99.
Maybe I-net is a better deal, has video, nic, modem, cdrom all for 99.99, support celeron and pentium III up to 1 ghz

Case is thick and solid, however it's microATX only. Power Supply is a Delta.

It's a crapshoot with these things-I got 2 bad ones-didn't build them til too close to warranty expire-Overstock.com passed the buck to Andara and their response was a joke- they don't respond-This was a valuable lesson to me.Go to resellerratings.com-if they're not a topnotch reseller,spend your money elsewhere-No Exceptions!!!!...............It's also only a great deal if it actually works.

if so, please PM me.

I want to see if they advertised a 250W power supply or if they didn't mention that. My friend got one and has a lot of problems and I want to see if that might be a basis for making them do a refund at this late stage.

Bought one a couple of weeks ago, didn't realize it had a BCM motherboard in it. It's going back. BMC is third tier manufacturer. Basically they abandon a board once they come up with a newer version. If via came up with a critical Bios fix, too bad, you're SOL, buy the new board. Sorry, I've got one POS sitting here, three bios updates, then nothing since Dec. 2000. Not going to do it again.

I built a computer for my bro with this barebone... Lot of power problems. If I use CD drive CDR drive doesn't work and vice versa. Nothing good about the motherboard that this barebone comes with... computer freezes atleast every half hour. It took my 10 trials to just install Windows XP on this machine. Plus the motherboard doesn't offer anything good, you can't install more than 1 Gig CPU. Now if you are going to buy a CPU why would you buy anything less than a 1 GIG. What I am saying is, just go and buy a better barebone with a better PS and MB. My $.02.
