anderson windows or pella?

I sold both for over 3 years. dollar for dollar, you are way better off buying Anderson. The build quality on Pella windows leaves much to be desired. Gaps in the inside trim, gaps in the outside flashing (which will lead to rotting)

However, their glass is the same. It comes from the same plant. The difference is in the building of the frame, where anderson puts pella to shame. If you don't believe me, go somewhere that sells both, and ask which they get more returns on, and then look for yourself at the build quality.

So, which product are you getting from them? Will they be replacement windows, or "new construction" type?

getting both casement and double hung, and something among the 200 series, or the 200a... have to finalize.. gonna totally rip out the windows and frame - since the whole floor is being remodelled, talking from plaster walls to dry wall etc... so i figure 'new construction' windows?

Yeah, that sounds right, but what is the exterior facade? Brick, siding, or other? That's the pain in the ass part to match up. Sounds like a really major renovation. I doubt we'll be hearing much from you on the board, once it starts, eh?

hi..outside is brick...

um the whole floor has been demolished already... i contracted it out... i'll be busy doing other areas of the house like upstairs and misc stuff, and i got a regular job... so i'd like to have done more by myself, but i can't... it'd take forever...

heh, i think i have more questions to post along the way...
