I'm confident the Colts will get through the Bengals. People jumped on the Colts for getting obliterated by the Cowboys, but a thin team was powerless with Hilton being out and Vontae being gimpy combined with zilch to play for, I don't think that was a totally fair representation.

Now, after the Bungles are downed, it gets a lot tougher. Luck on a fantastic day with a lights-out Hilton and Davis playing shutdown, I think things could be pretty good for the Colts. That's asking a lot though. All of their limited strengths would have to be stellar to get by some of the tougher teams that are more complete that lie ahead.

I just don't trust the Bungles to move forward. And I know that Luck is one of the best young QBs of all time. The surrounding cast he has does leave a lot to be desired though. How's their cap space and such look for '15? Improvement?

The Colts played pretty badly today on offense -- even Hilton was dropping passes all over the place. I think the Bungles made it easy for them. I would say the offensive line played a good game but I am not sure Cincy's defensive line is good enough to merit such praise.

its obviously andrew luck's fault that his receivers dropped all of those passes because he is so overrated.

again, when did i say that?

what's with you? you accuse me of feeling a certain way which is completely inaccurate, yet when i ask you when it was that i made these claims you're making, you never offer any evidence.

you're trying to force an inaccurate portrayal of my opinion. stop. it's annoying.

He really should do something about that neckbeard.

Or just go play in Pittsburgh.

Surprise!!! The team that was favored to win (when people put their money where there mouth is) won.

i didn't know gresham was going to be out. i think he would have made it more challenging, but i think the way the colts played, they'd have won anyway. heron did a great job.

Green was out, you could safely bet against the Bengals.

Is the jury still out on Luck? I mean, he could easily still be a bust right? ...right?

Already has a considerably better post-season winning ratio than the QB he replaced. The one who many people constantly claim to be the GOAT quarterback in the same completely retarded and baseless way that many similarly clueless people say that Led Zep is the greatest rock band ever.

Must say this one surprised me ... also made me happy.

Having said that although this was an impressive win Luck played pretty much to the high level I thought he would. It was the rest of the Colts team in particular the defensive line that really exceeded expectations.

Also what the hell happened to Peyton Manning? He was never a great post season QB but this game was pathetic. I think he may be done.

I've said all year the Colts will be one and done in the playoffs. Irsay needs to give Grigson and Pagano a performance ultimatum next year. I kind off hope the Bengals blow them out and therefore convince the Colts to fire Greg Manusky (their defensive coordinator).

Trying to figure out what has local Colts fans so pissy. It has to be the game at Dallas, which I would admit was very disappointing. But to me, the biggest issue is Grigson missing on some of his pickups. He's done well for sure, but some of the signings have been mediocre (Landry, Richardson, RJF, etc).

To me, I knew the Colts had a shot as Manning has been off the last few weeks this season. While a week off could've been the rest he needed to get it together, often times the bye week can keep a QB from staying in rhythm.

And the Colts, when they have something to play for, are a team that can threaten the best of other teams. To me, if you're capable of beating both SB contenders (last year), you have a shot in pretty much every game.

Next week will be different though, and the defense has to be huge. Brady is playing lights out, and it seems their defense isn't much different. This coming game should be a good one, but the Patriots have the clear edge with home field advantage, but I can definitely the Colts pulling out another one. The question is whether they have the gas to get it done, and whether Hilton will stop dropping passes.

I think his age and injuries caught up with him and teams figured that out and began to expose it midway through the season. He just doesn't have any arm strength left at all.

I don't know about local Colts fans being pissy (have you seen others?), but I'll give my two cents. They have had 3 years of 11-5 records and last year should've been at least 13-3. They have severely regressed this year IMO and Grigson seems unable or unwilling to address the offensive line woes. I don't blame Grigson for the Richardson trade, as it was worth a shot IMO; however, I don't believe he has done enough in FA to solidify the team, particularly on o-line (they signed a FA center who promptly retired rather than pursuing Alex Mack hard like they should have).

My biggest beef with Pagano is more about the inconsistency, especially on defense. I don't like Greg Manusky and wish Irsay would spend the money to bring in a top-flight defensive coordinator. I think the players on defense are adequate to be honest.

The Colts can play with the best teams in the league when they're hitting on all cylinders. They have rarely done that this year. I'm happy they're in the AFC Championship but to be fair, they beat a mediocre Bungles team and a reeling Broncos team. I am trying to keep a proper perspective on it.

Manning and the receivers seemed to have more timing issues than anything. It's one of those internal count things that's hard to correct when you start second guessing yourself. The key to stopping Peyton has always been putting pressure on him from the inside. If he can't step up, he knows not to roll out. (he's not fast enough) That gets his clock going faster.

If you go back to the Ravens vs Patriots game from this weekend. It was the only game that ended the way I wanted to (sorry Colts fans, but I was pulling for the Broncos because I'm a Titans fan...no offense). Luck vs Brady is going to be interesting because they have 2 different styles. Brady goes for quick, underneath throws to stop the pass rush to attack cover 2 and tampa2. Luck is more mobile in the pocket, extends the play and throws downfield on more post routes and comebacks with occasional bubble screens. I certainly hope they're both on for that game. I don't want to see a blowout in either direction...I want to see a real nailbiter.

This is one of the great things about the NFL. Some teams have all the luck (literally, the Colts) and yet the fan base is still not pleased to be in the 10+ wins range every season. Then you have others like my local team the Titans who continually suck.

Why is this interesting? Because as a fan base we likely share the same level of happiness. If you're bad you suck and hope to be better. If you're good and lose you still suck because you didn't win the Super Bowl.

I'd trade the Titans franchise for the Colts any day. Deal?

Having regular 10+ win seasons doesn't help when you don't make or win Super Bowls. I'd rather finish 9-7 every year and play in Super Bowls than finish 12-4 every year and not.

Many Colts fans feel Irsay squandered the Manning years and I think that's where a lot of our impatience comes from.

I definitely get that. Many place their failure to win multiple Super Bowls on Manning. Seems the QB is responsible for everything but it certainly went deeper than that.
