I'd put Brad Johnson, who I always forget about and then say Dilfer has two rings, below Dilfer. Johnson had Dunn and Alstott and a great o-line.

The point is, the QB is only one position in a game where 22 people are on the field at once and injuries are common.

The QB is the easiest position to sink a team. It is the most important position in the offense. He is the person who runs the offense on the field. Someone who is going to make bad decisions is going to ruin that team's chances of winning.

It's crazy how idiots focus on the QB instead of the most important factor on offense, the o-line. People who know football focus on lineplay, idiot NFL fans spew on and on and on and on about QBs.

Purebeast, your trashfire of a team is going to suck without RGIII just as much, or worse, because it will continue to be owned by an imbecile. Nothing any single player will do will be able to counteract the incompetence of your piece of shit owner, the fucking idiot who traded UP (only idiots do this in the NFL) for the 2nd slot for not even the best QB in the draft.

Jesus fucking christ, you are pathetic. Enjoy your shit sandwich this season.

the redskins have drafted many linemen in the past 5 years, including pro bowl tackle trent williams and 5th round pick this past year.

and no one is arguing that the owner isn't an idiot, in fact i think anyone who knows anything about football already knows that.

but keep spewing your fun facts and hanging off of rg3's nuts. you probably love tim tebow too.

-snip-

financially they don't get any benefit in cutting him though. like they don't really lose anything by keeping him on the roster, ....

-snip-

The main thing with RGIII is that they absolutely HAVE to cut him before next season.
...
I am not sure they can cut him THIS SEASON if he is injured, so if they keep him on the roster and he is forced to play because another QB is down, another knee injury could push his injury recovery into next year and the Redskins would be forced to pay him $16 million. So it might be wiser to cut him sooner rather than take that risk.

I think it's in the organization's/team's best interest to cut him now.

I'm hearing once he is cleared for his concussion the $16 million is in play. I'm also hearing that same $16 million injury clause makes it highly unlikely anybody will trade for him.

i heard they can't cut him while he is injured, and until he is cleared, he's technically injured.

i'm not up to snuff with all of the rules of the salaries and stuff though so i don't really know, but that's what i've been hearing on the radio.

I think you're correct.

IIRC, the suggestion was that upon being cleared for his concussion (but before being allowed to practice) he should be released. Again IIRC, if he practices/plays, gets injured and cannot pass his physical at year-end the Redskins are on the hook for the $16M.

I'm not a fan of RGIII or anything, but believe the guy needs to move on for his own benefit. I.e., I think it's in both parties' interest to separate.

yup, too.

he was technically medically cleared by an independent neurologist. i'm wondering if that's enough.

they're probably going to try and renegotiate his contract to a number that is more to the liking of a team rg3 would rather play for, like the texans.

Yeah they'll pretty much have to cut him once he is cleared from the concussion protocol or they risk another injury (even in practice) that could cost them $16 million.

What is all this "thinking about moving on" nonsense? They should shit or get off the pot. If you trash talk your QB, you usually ruin him for your team. You also lower his trade value. If they don't want him, trade him and salvage something. If they don't want to get rid of him, STFU and develop him. Or put his ass on the bench and name Cousins the clear starter. SOMETHING that's forward-thinking.

The fact that they haven't already picked one of these illustrates how messed up that organization really is. Talk shit about your QB behind his back...that's some football genius right there.

actually, he was.

http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/redskinsblog/redskins-griffin-cleared-play-independent-neurologist

then, it was reversed after further review. technically, though, he was, at one point, medically cleared.

so much fail from you in here.

he wasn't medically cleared, that article came out before the written report came back saying he wasn't cleared. the verbal report was not the same as the written report, and the written report is the only one that matters. there was no "upon further review".

i can say rg3 is the best qb in the league (just like he did). doesn't make it true.

IIRC, I heard RGIII has another concussion exam next week or the week after, and I imagine at that point is when he'll be officially cleared and maybe released.

Lol there you go, again, being a dickhead for no good reason.

Look, you can believe whatever it is you want to believe, because the Redskins have a history of not bullshitting the media and being crystal clear since Bruce Allen has been involved.

There was a discussion and the doctor said he was good to go. Then, is report said he wasn't. I dunno. He's gonna be cleared on Friday, most likely, anyway. Chances are that he was already good to go, but they already had this reeval on the schedule, so they stuck with it.

you're just so misinformed about everything it's hard to not facepalm when replying to you. pretty much everything you've said in this entire thread, from it's inception, has been wrong.

Ought to create a new thread and poll if he gets released asking the question "Which team will pick up RG3 from waivers." Thinking he wouldn't fall past the Jets, which is a very fitting place for him to be. One more act for their circus.

the odd thing about him owning that radio station is that the guys on there trash him constantly and how poorly managed the team is due to him. you would think he would put a stop to that.

although, there were rumors that a new show that started a few months ago, a couple days before it was to start, the guy who was going to host it was canned, and the rumor is that it's because he wrote a piece trashing the organization in the washington post (or some other magazine) the friday before he was to start.

EDIT:

oh apparently, it was that the show didn't go as planned initially, but the same guy is now on it (jason reid, who's very knowledgable and good to listen to)>

here's the article talking about that stuff

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...io-spots-after-the-man-cave-debut-is-shelved/

and another followup on it
