Android app to back up Galaxy

Stupid noob question...

I'm completely new to the Android platform; I have an older, jailbroken (formerly T-Mobile) Galaxy S3. What is the standard app to back this thing up on the PC?

You can sync the whole phone to your google account where you can log in with a different device and get your settings and apps back. Is that what you're looking to do? There are things you can do on a rooted phone to backup the entire thing but that does you no good if you get a new device that is not rooted and using the same ROM version.

If you want to back up apps+data i recommend helium backup, if you want to backup sms/mms/call logs then i suggest mybackup app.

I suppose the nearest thing to an "official" desktop backup for galaxy phones would either be Samsungs Smart Switch desktop client or Kies depending on the phone.

You can also backup using the kies desktop app.

if you are rooted what recovery do you have? I've found twrp to be the easiest to backup and recover.

Well, there're many methods to backup your mdeia files from samsung galaxy to computer. As far as i know, an android data transfer app could backup everything from phone to computer, including sms and contacts. Try Coolmuster Android Assistant

If it supports your phone, Samsung Smart Switch can make a backup to your micro SD card. It will backup your contacts, call logs, SMS, apps, pictures, music and documents. Then you can use SS to restore the backup to a new phone.

As far as I know, a special designed android data backup app could transfer everything from your phone to computer, and you don't need to root your phone, just need enable usb debugging on your phone.
