doh.. Groupon had a 1/2 price special that ended last week.
probably will get a 1yr subscription. need to to rebuild my front porch.
hm.. Anyone have a northern VA subscription?
thx for the 48% off!Don't do it. If you do, make sure you google for the 40% off coupon and use paypal for an additional 20% off for a total of 48% off.
But seriously, I don't think it's worth it.
Also, once you find the contractor, cancel and you may be able to get a full refund if your account is < 1 months
not enough attention in this thread for Servicemagic (now homeadvisor) - F R E E. Only 2 mentions? Come on, I thought we were savvy people. Used servicemagic twice and both times had good results - even a call back within minutes of submitting. How is Angie's List even successfully getting membership payment with servicemagic out there? The only advantage Angie's List has is for businesses (better leads by more serious people), not an advantage to us consumers.
It's like paying for a Google competitor.
thx for the 48% off!
Why dont u think it's worth it?
i live in a big city. i'm assuming lots of reviews?
service magic gets paid by the company/contractor. conflict of interest?

You have no clue who you are hiring. You have no idea of the quality of the work.
With angieslist, I can see real customer reviews........
Google, yelp, and others are full of fake or bogus reviews.
Yes, the companies can pay for ads to move up the list on angielist, but it doesn't change their reviews. If their reviews suck, I don't care if they are at the top of the search results.
Angie's List will eventually become free because there just aren't enough people staying on as a long-term subscriber.
if you cant think outside the box then i would recommend it, but if you are good at analyzing what you read on google (or local groups) and are business/marketing savvy then it's generally a waste of money.
