Direct Action Everywhere, the California-based animal rights activists who gave us last month’s “Chicken Lady” video showing the group confronting diners eating in a trendy California restaurant, have added a new tactic to their playbook: funerals for frozen chickens.

And they are holding these “funerals” in grocery stores, during business hours.

This ladies and gentlemen is what you call progressive liberalism. You may know it as bigotry and intolerance. It is not enough to offer a differing opinion. The progressives have to disrupt the lives of others.

Recent discoveries show mankind has been eating chicken for around 10k years. The chicken may also have been one of our first domesticated farm animals.

If humans do it, suddenly it's some great travesty. Some of their arguments almost make sense; I don't like the idea of inhumane farming conditions, for example. But that's not good enough; they don't want ANY raising of animals for food. And they don't want you hunting either, because using tools is unfair. And it's not just about inhumane farming conditions or using tools for hunting; even if you found a dead cow by the side of the road, these vegan hippie dipshits would complain if you fired up the grill. These people simultaneously believe that animals are superior to humans and that humans should be held to a higher standard than animals; that's fucking absurd.

Humpback whales hunt as a group, exhaling large rings of air around groups of fish to form a bubble net, trapping the fish in a bait ball that the whales will take turns chomping at until every last fish has been devoured. That strikes me as an intelligent animal hunting with advanced technology to the absolute destruction of a weaker species; frankly, it's unfair. But when I call for humpback whales to be hunted to extinction to save the bait fish, the animal rights people paint me as the monster? Where's the consistency there? At least when I go fishing (at the supermarket), I leave some behind for other people.

While I have no problems with killing and eating animals for many of the reasons you mentioned, I think you aren't fairly describing their position.

It's not that animals are superior to people or anything, it's that herding, farming, and killing animals causes large amounts of suffering to living things when we no longer need to do it to survive. That to me is a very reasonable point. While, like you, my response would be 'nature, red in tooth and claw', I don't think such a position is crazy.
