That is the liberal brain defect. Many liberals are terrified by how dangerously abnormal and psychologically deranged conservative brain defective thinking is. This fear appears to be rational to them because for a liberal to think as you do they would have to become psychotic and lose all functionality of reasoning. They can't believe that you aren't intentionally insane, that you rationalize rather than reason, that your intelligence has been put to a different purpose that seeing reality. Nor can they see that you can't help it, that you had to do thins in order to survive a concentration camp effort to make you conform to group think as a child, that it is you, in fact, that now represent the actual authoritarian force that you fear comes from others. You create by your own paranoia, the very state of being that you fear. You have built a delusional reality and a delusional reality is always under threat by reality itself. This is why fact always has a liberal bias.
And I see you continue to lump all liberals into your altered delusion as to what it is to be liberal even though I as a liberal, have agreed that many liberals do not see the sexism they manifest when they react to Ann Coulter, and how pathetic that is.
Conservatives have a number of moral concerns that liberals don't share and one of them is purity. Haley took a stand against an icon that has a quasi-religious status among REAL AMERICANS and that marks her as foreign to that group even though she may have other ideals in common with them. This notion of purity is based on disgust of the impure and when it is applied to the other implies the other is dirty. This is a form of disrespect and when you disrespect others you get disrespect back. It is conservatives more than liberals that are most guilty of this because it is conservatives that are most affected by disgust of the impure. But you create what you fear and by calling others dirty they will show you dirt.
Just don't forget that though you have more moral concerns than liberals do, they are more interested in justice and equality than conservatives are. They just don't get a wound up about whether you eat pork or worship a flag.
