Replace murder with perjury to get a closer analogy. However, the magnitude of the offense makes no difference in the analogy anyway. I know you know this and you are just trolling, but I'll point it out anyway.

Nope.

Let's recapitulate, shall we?

1) You claimed a motive for quote-crapping, and I demonstrated that your claim was a lie. Not a lie a week ago, but a lie the last two days.

2) You tried to evade that damning fact by pretending that I was applying an ex-post-facto judgement about an example of your quote-crapping.

3) I clarified that it was your current LIE that I was assailing, and showed you how my original post unmistakably made that point.

4) You again tried to evade by (again) pretending that the discussion was about whether you'd quote-crapped recently, and raised a principle: it's "silly" to assail someone for bad behavior committed in the past.

5) As is usual with your so-called principles, this one was transparently false, too - a "principle" of convenience, invented by you to avoid owning up to your continuing evasions, lies, and "misinterpretations," So I destroyed your principle by showing how absurd it is.

6) And now, deprived of any credible defense, you continue with the devastating "You're silly" strategy.

7) In other words, almost all of your extensive trolling strategies are in abundant evidence in this thread. You aren't quote-crapping anymore, but that's because the mods have made specific anti-trolling rules that you know you can't get around. And I'll bet you'd be rolling out your coup-de-grace deflection - interpreting posts as having bizarre sexual significance - if you didn't think the mods were closely watching this thread.

Hence the term "unprincipled, pathological troll."

Given enough well-crafted rules, you could be whittled down to the boorish fool you really are. But rules have an unfortunate way of inhibiting good people, too. So what I imagine will happen is that - sooner or later - the mods will have seen enough of you and will simply expel you. Good riddance.

Let's recapitulate, shall we?

You can capitulate* again as often as you like. It is something you are good at.

The rest of your post is simply you trying to place an alternate reality onto the rest of us.

(*Yes, I know it is a different word)

There's no "rest of us," little man; my post attacked only you. And there's no "alternate" reality, just my perspicacity and your psychosis.

You are funny, I think I will keep you. I will hug you and squeeze you and call you George.

I think we have a candidate for banning now (bolding added by me to enhance readability):

Original post (from "Separation of church and state on birth control" thread), made at 10:59 AM this morning:

It won't pass because the dems do not care that they are alienating people such as Vice President Biden. Biden is against this plan of Obama. You know it is bad when the VP publically opposes the plans of the P.
You read/watch too much Faux News, Biden's fine with it now.

Quote-crapped post (made at 11:08 AM this morning):

Fixed your mispelling. Faux News is a parody site, I never visit it. Most likely, only a small handful of people actually ever do visit it.

I missed the part about Biden being fine with Obama's capitulation. Thanks for the update. I know Obama had no issue with pissing Biden off at the start, though.

Soundforbjt's use of the spelling "Faux" - a play on the word "Fox" - is a clearly intentional political statement, widely used on ATPN to indicate that the Fox network has an extreme political slant and that the accuracy of information from Fox News is highly questionable. Cybyrsage's replacement of "Faux" with "Fox" eliminates one of the central meanings of Soundforbjt's post. Furthermore, Cybyrsage's statement - that "Faux News is a parody site" - further craps on Soundforbjt's intended meaning.

We also have Cybysage's own statement in post #48 (from six days ago) of this thread:

Except that your own typical MO is NOT to "clean up" someone else's post. No, what you do is take a post that shows that you're a moron and change the words to make it appear that the poster was the moron. In other words, your sole purpose is to play games in a desperate attempt to make yourself look better than you actually are.
I only do it when the poster actually IS being a moron. However, I have stopped doing it even though the posters have not stopped being morons.

Clearly, then, we have Cybyrsage LYING (again), TWICE, in one post:

1) Soundforbjt's post clearly is not moronic. It made a clear and un-moronic suggestion about where Cybyrsage gets his highly slanted and highly questionable material. But Cybyrsage quote-crapped Soundforbjt's non-mornic post, even though Cybyrsage has informed us that "I only do it when the poster actually IS being a moron."

2) Cybyrsage's quote-crap occurred at 11:08 AM today. But Cybyrsage tells us "However, I have stopped doing it even though the posters have not stopped being morons."

Mods, over to you.

I'm so glad I'm not a mod. I'd really suck at it. I've heard they don't get paid, do you guys at least get cookies or something? something? Please tell me you at least get the occasional post saying thanks.
If you don't, consider this a post saying thanks for putting up with all of us.

Hey! Something we agree on. Being a P&N mod must really suck, and it's only going to get worse with these pending rule changes. Kudos, ladies and gentlemen, and thank you.

..blah blah...

He either meant http://www.fauxnews.com/ which I do not watch so at all, or he mispelled Fox News, which I corrected for him (and do watch occasionally).

Only one of the two can be true. I fixed the spelling to ensure we were on the same page wrt his post. If he felt my fix of his spelling was incorrect, and he actually did mean fauxnews, then he is wrong. If he actually did mean to mispell FoxNews, then there is nothing wrong with my fix.

Often, people put an extra "e" in my screen name when they type it out. When I quote them, many times I will correct it. I don't even bother to point it out.

Now come here for another hug.

I think this is one of those issues which unite the various factions and groups together in a common mindset. I agree with both of you.

There is a slim possibility that things may be changing (for the better).

IF the P&N mods actually get the backing, then the quality of this place can improve. It will take a thick skin by what Mods try to enforce the changes.

Many good Mods left because of the quality slide.

shira, your expressed concerns are commendable as are your excellent efforts to document and lay forth the rationale behind your concerns.

Unfortunately the current rule (the OP in this thread) does not cover what you are concerned with in that you are not the immediate affected party by the alteration of the quote in question. Soundforbjt is.

As such, only Soundforbjt has the right to call foul here at this time with the way in which this band-aid rule has been drafted.

In time the plan is to replace this temporary stop-gap rule with something more broadly defined by the community in terms of "no personal attack or insults" or something like that which would allow the community to have a say in their respective position of being a witness to misquoting and the offense they take to its occurrence.

He either meant http://www.fauxnews.com/ which I do not watch so at all, or he mispelled Fox News, which I corrected for him (and do watch occasionally).

cybrsage, just for the record that is not the appropriate way to correct another member's typo. Even in journalism you are expected to leave the quote 100% intact while simply adding a (sic) next to the error.

In your case I would have expected you to leave the original faux-news reference in the quoted text body, and in your post you would ask "do you really mean fauxnews.com? or did you mistakenly reference fauxnews when you intended to reference Fox News?".

Posting to ask clarification on the intent of the original message IS what communication is all about.

And if you are here to communicate, and to do your part in ensuring the intended message is not lost in translation, then you will earnestly and actively seek less inflammatory and less prone-to-further-confusion methods of gaining clarity on your fellow member's posts.

Gotcha. Will do, and thanks for the clarification. I can still correct typos in my screen name, though, correct?

Why assume the typos are even in reference to you? Think about it.

If folks want to denigrate some member named cybrstooge then what does that even have to do with you? You aren't cyberstooge, why assume every comment about that guy is a comment about you?

And if it needs to be said then let me say it here so there is absolutely no misunderstanding across the community, I appreciate the fact that people take the time and take advantage of this opportunity to post up their questions on what is actionable and what is not.

The more we talk about it the better we can align our expectations to reality. Communication is key.

Really? You think not using the "e" in cyber and therefor making it cybr is not a reference to me? Especially when the two members were talking about me previously? Really?

Are you seriously saying this? So if Yedi said "Idontcare's position is stupid" and I replied to him with "Iamanidiot is always posting stupid things" you would not make the connection to yourself? It would not obviously be an alteration of Idontcare?

Really?

EDIT: But hey, if screen name alterations are acceptable, then everyone can do it and not just select people, right?

Dangiamstupid69 is one of the worst posters here. One would think someone of that low intelligence would self implode from the vacuum level in his head!

Good thing there is no way anyone would rationally think this post is about dank69...
