Are Analon cookware good? I was interested in one of their saucepans.

Yeah I think it's pretty good. This is definitely a great deal for a way-above-average starter set. I bought this same display set at KitchensEtc for $100, which was $50 cheaper than normal, and I've been pretty happy. Cleanup is soooooo easy with the anodized aluminum, it transfers heat VERY well, and the glass lids are wonderful and don't spit because the rim sits inside the pot, and they look damn cool. Downsides: No dishwashing, no metal utensils, no cooking in the oven, the lids aren't very tight, and the warrantee is total crap. Still definitely good stuff!

Anybody have any thoughts on which is better: Analon Classic, Analon Advanced, Circulon Classic, or Circulon 2? I need to pick up some quality cookware but I would prefer to buy the best once, rather than a couple of sets that are only decent.

This set sells for $299 at Macys and is hard-anodized and non-stick. It is oven-safe to 500 degrees. The $99 set is only safe to 350 degrees.

It comes with $40 Amazon GC offer (exp 12/31/03). At the time I bought it I got in on the $20 kitchen and housewares GC offer too and I used the $10 off $75 coupon Amazon mailed out to most people.

My final cost was $129 shipped but since the $20 offer expired you can get it for $149 if you use the $10 coupon. Still a hot deal. That's $160+tax less than what Macy's sells it for and 83% off list price!

IMO, cookware sets in general are never good deals- example, do you really need a 1.5 and 2qt saucepan? Also, they never include the pieces I would use the most (like a 12" frying pan). I'm kind of becoming a kitchen geek, so I prefer to pick up my cookware a piece at a time- I would rather spend the same amount of money on fewer pieces, knowing I would use them all (plus I like to mix and match materials- stainless steel for most, non-stick for eggs, cast iron for searing). Received my 12 piece anolon set and it's beautiful. Very professional looking. This is by far the best cookware I've ever owned.

It's good kit - I've been using it for 5 years - no complaints. They are discontinuing this brand - anaolon classic - if you go to macys or Rob May you will find great deals on their open stock. Take off the 10% that they allow on homewares to make it sweeter.Note that they alwasys say 15% or 20% on their vouchers, but never on homeware - the small print always excludes the homeware section.
