can anyone calculate the rate of fire?
Because maybe the leaf isn't worth it over fire or water? fires slower?
idk all I know is the 3rd flower is the only hope to reach 90 but how the hell do you save up 15k... almost impossible if it isn't altogether impossible.
9 flower towers and 1 almost top ice to begin.
I don't believe there is a rate of fire issue, and here's why:
I played 3 games with only water, and 3 games with only nature - none were upgraded. I placed the towers in the same locations each time. Regardless of water or nature the dots were killed at exactly the same location (I placed trace paper over the screen and noted the final position, as well as checking the time on the clock). That means that 5 damage is 5 damage, regardless of what tower inflicts it. Obviously I can't judge upgraded levels, since the range and damage vary. I think it would be odd to have rof increase only at higher levels however, especially with no mention of it.
That leaves 4 vital pieces of the puzzle: damage, range, cost, position. Obviously the nature gives the best damage over range for cost. Fire and flower are simply too short of range to allow them to strike the number of times that nature can strike, and for equal or greater damage. The only question is if the 300 range on the final water allows enough additional hits from different locations on the map to make up for the lower damage, and if the higher cost is therefore justified.
My next experiment will be testing the difference between placing towers directly in line with the path, versus slightly off-line, and see what difference that makes. The next step after that is deciding depth - ie how many towers to place in line before diminishing returns (due to distance) makes it better to place in other lines of fire.
Then I'm going to sell my computer and buy myself a life.
