Another ASUS A8N Premium SLI Memory Problem

Congrats on upgrade. Couldn't believe myself ASUS does things like that.

Okay here's the latest update:

I just finished speaking with ASUS RMA department, and they said that they are willing to do that IF... IF they have them in stock -- which is most unlikely. I'm waiting for an email from them.

This is how it works... they'll let you upgrade an RMA usually on inventory that they're trying to get rid of, or overhead stock. This is hardly the case with the A8N32-SLI. BUT, becuase my current board is the A8N Premium, the only upgrade I can possibly have is the A8N32-SLI, and that's why they're making people in my situation an exception.

I asked them if they can ship the A8N32 immediately instead of having me first send them the A8N Premium and then ship it, and I'm still waitng on their decision. I'll update when I hear back from them. I have a feeling I might have to purchase from Newegg first, and then sell my newly RMA's Premium.

It is hard to get 1GB sticks to work with any socket 939 board.
If you want to know 2 sticks of 1GB that will work rock solid in that exact board
in dual channel at PC3200 1T and can prime all the time, and never blue screen then PM me.

Thanks for the offer, if I'm not completely satisfied with my TwinX3500 2GB Kit, I will definitely let you know.

Update from ASUS RMA Department:

This is the email I recieved from them:

Per my manager, we do not have any stock available to upgrade for model A8N-32. The upgrade program we are currently running is for models we have overstock on. Not new products.

So as expected, they cannot upgrade becuase they simply don't have any in stock, and they'll only upgrade on products that are over stock and not new products. And damned if I'm going to wait that long for a new board. SO, I found a local computer warehouse in Long Beach that happens to have the board for $218, PcParts.com I think. I'm going to purchase it from them, and RMA and sell my Premium board.

UPDATE:

Well, I just recieved my Corsair TwinX20243500-LL, and what do you know, it's the board that's bad. The A1 and B1 slots are not working. That's okay, I should be getting the A8N32 SLI next week. That's what I'm upgrading to, and this one is going to be RMA'd then put back on the market.

I am currently looking at the same memory (3500-LL) as I have found a buyer for my old memory. I have had a terrible experience with the ballistix and am looking forward again to stable computing.
