That's good news, though a little unexpected. The cost of medical insurance is surely going up for some people / organizations - you can't just add millions of people to coverage for nothing. To me the entire conversation on the ACA should have revolved around the idea of giving a little to help your fellow citizens out.

Certainly better than I expected, and in my opinion the additional cost is reasonable to help cover the additional people. Plus the younger employees who tend to earn less may also tend to less often hit the out-of-pocket. If an employee's total health care expenditure is less than $2,700 (the old out of pocket) then that employee actually saves a bit of money. Doctors and health care providers are not happy, of course, as the new expenses are paid by reducing their payments. Obviously this is a problem going forward as many if not most local doctors are accepting no new patients on this plan, but health insurance in a very small company is always a year-to-year concern anyway.
No it wouldn't. If Romney were president he would have repealed that bullshit. He knows hair brained healthcare reform when he sees it.
Assuming a President Romney and a solid Republican Congress, he probably would have repealed it. Replacing it would be difficult though; the opposition to Obamacare is much more homogeneous than is support for any particular replacement. And many Republicans (including me) and independents (and conservative or free-thinking Democrats) are not in favor of repealing Obamacare unless and until we can see a replacement that is clearly better.
